A new idea that revolutionizes US manufacturing. It can come from anywhere. A large, established manufacturer. The dreamers at a small startup, a government initiative or the imagination of a young scholar. But the next big idea can't thrive in a silo. Without connections to funding, people and purpose, new ideas fall apart and can't become innovations. The ARM Institute's goal is to link the world of robotics and artificial intelligence with the world of US manufacturing to catalyze sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships between those with the ideas and those with the resources to keep those ideas moving forward. With a diverse and broad national membership that includes hundreds of manufacturers, startups, top research universities, community colleges, trade schools, nonprofits, technology suppliers, and government agencies committed to US manufacturing, the ARM Institute builds bridges between allies that may have otherwise missed the opportunity to connect. Using this model, the ARM Institute has been able to power innovation by bringing together organizations that share a common mission to grow US manufacturing through automation and robotics. My name, Scott Lucas, I'm the vice president of aviation manufacturing and institutional effectiveness at WSU Tech in Wichita. We're A2 year Technical College in Wichita and we're affiliated with Wichita State University. We were actually one of the very first. A2 year colleges in the country to offer a robotics only program. So we've had robotics for about a decade now. We received endorsement about a year and a half ago. So we worked with ARM kind of as they were streamlining the process. And so we were I believe the second or third program that actually go through the endorsement process as a two year college. I think it's a different perspective as say a research university. So ours is truly focused on workforce, it's focused on credentialing and endorsement process robotics. Career.org so focused on those workforce type pieces because frankly we have to look at the big picture. The big picture is, is if we don't focus on workforce, you know we're going to lose out not only in our region, in our state, but nationally. And so it is now a global race. Arm is really the core of that in robotics and automation. And so there's the technical aspects of of how you're doing the job and the processes that are taking place. But if you don't have people trained to be able to. Operate and work and integrate the robots into those processes. We're not gonna be able to advance manufacturing as a whole. I think that's one of the things that Robotics career.org is is just showcasing here are the opportunities educationally and from a workforce standpoint that are available. And I think you are seeing students becoming more educated and parents becoming more educated about what opportunities are out there. Those are things that hopefully will provide more validation or verification. Of the choice that they would make to go to and endorsed program. It helps us with our mission of supporting our local region and ultimately it helps students because now they're more workforce trained and capable endorsement. Really shows that, well, we're at a different level, if you will. It truly does validate the work that we're doing in advanced manufacturing, in smart manufacturing in our region. And really it validates that a national level, the opportunities that working alongside the armed partners, the armed staff has provided a network that ultimately I don't think we would have had completely without the opportunities that being a member of ARM has provided. And so I definitely see the impact of what ARM has had. In advanced manufacturing and robotics on our campus. Once you have those opportunities to see. First hand, the impact that you're doing with students or talk to business and industry about, you know, the impact of what hiring our students has done or as you work with them to make changes to your programs. And they're just like, wow, you guys are are doing a great job of, of working with us on training. It feeds that passion. So that's what I get up every day to do. At the ARM Institute, we've spent the last five years building the largest national consortium of tech, education and manufacturing pioneers who together are developing robotics and AI technology and workforce strategies to strengthen US manufacturing. The idea is to solve our country's biggest manufacturing challenges are out there. At the ARM Institute, we believe connectivity is the key to a brighter future for everyone.
