Lovely to see our incredible St Vincent's Newcastle centre featured in BBC News this week! Due to increased demand, the centre will be expanding its low cost food and clothing market into a five days per week service! Used by about 250 people, Vinnies' Pop-Up Market offers a range of foods as well as hygiene products, baby food, household items and clothes. Buenos dias, LinkedIn! Week 11 of 2024 AND #5 Wake Up Wednesday ?? FEAR! One of the greatest tools our human mind has given us to protect ourselves and also one of the most debilitating tools from trying something new and taking that leap. ????♀? February 9th, Mountain Mojo Group participated in Canyon Coolers Cooler Races to benefit Flagstaff Family Food Center: Food Bank and Kitchen. Kenny and I volunteered as tributes to ride down an epic sled led and created by Austin Leggett, friends, and our Mojo Team. What an experience! This was our second race where we won and COMPLETELY wiped out. So many folks had came up to disclose their fears of never doing anything like that cause of the risk. Shooken up after the fall, we had zero concerns to do it again because of the following: ?? Support from our team! We knew we were in good hands and as nerve wrecked as we were, we knew it'd workout. ?? Facing the unknown. You miss a 100% of the shots you don't take and we weren't going to back out and NOT find out how we could do! ?? Opportunity. Yes, this was a super fun fundraiser BUT it was still a fundraiser nonetheless that went to a great cause. We did not want to miss out on the opportunity to not only support FFFC, but to partake in an experience with our community to strengthen our ties and support one another! Be rational of course, but don't let Fear make your decisions. Be brave to step out of your comfort zone and embrace the support you have, Fear of the unknown and don't miss opportunity! LOOKING FOR FEEDBACK, I am trying to build a method of Giving for Donation ideas, and here is one I have come up with, where I am contacting companies that are Bee or Honey associated because our main character is a Bee. what are your thoughts? Hi, we are a nonprofit organization, in Fresno, for the prevention of abuse by educating through Play and Entertainment. We have cartoon/comic characters that are called the Bugillagers. Our main character is named RowJoeBee and his best friend is SemBelAnt. We are considering setting up a donation page based on naming the various characters that will be used in the comics and cartoons that we will be producing. Would you, as a BEE based company, consider donating to our cause, for the privilege of naming A Bee for our stories, A Queen for our stories, and/or a Hive for our stories? Or for a larger donation, create the personality for that character? Or even our other insectile characters. We are considering setting up a page on our site, that would automate such a Donate/Name feature, but we need to know if it would actually be viable as a method of getting involvement? Update on the New Orleans Red Dress Run Transphobic Facebook post controversy: they have now changed the website and put their page back up! Let's discuss and review the problematic issues from what was previously published and compare that to what they put up now. Also in the first live stream we discussed the formation of Red Dress Run & Hash House Harriers via colonialism. Today we will follow that up with why I don't believe the fact that Red Dress Run is "for charity" is a reason to sweep the transphobia under the rug, especially considering this is a result of colonialism utilizing colonialism to excuse colonialism. https://lnkd.in/gf88hp9T

Do you know that we have a volunteer group for helping homeless people in Barcelona called Esperan?a (means "Hope" in English)? You can find more information on their official website?https://lnkd.in/dMypG_Xz It started as a few friends who came together and made some soup and sandwiches on a November night in 2013 and headed towards Park Ciutadella. Since then they have expanded and covered two routes, twice a week (Saturday and Sunday). They are always looking for new people to join. Barcelona BIM (Y.Muriel) we will joining the route on 26th May. Also we will have a two-hour sandwich-making workshop on 12th May. In these two hours, we will only prepare sandwiches, soups, drinks... all the food before two routes on that day. If you want to join the route to distribute food and drinks to people, please sign up for the route in the following duty sheet. Vegetable soup, Hard-boiled eggs, Tuna sandwiches, Cheese sandwiches, Soft fruit (bananas, oranges), Cookies or magdalenas?(indiv.Wrapped), Small juices. Socks, Underwear, Sleeping bags / Blankets, clothes, Toiletries (in small containers), and Other donations e.g. dog food, rucksacks, trolleys, books, etc…
