The Disillusionment of AI-Powered Interview Responses As an interviewer, I've recently encountered a concerning trend: candidates using AI tools to answer interview questions. While the allure of crafting perfect responses might be tempting, these tactics are not only unprofessional but also easily detectable. Here's the thing: interviewers are well-versed in the types of responses AI can generate. The unnatural flow, generic phrasing, and lack of specific details often betray AI use. Additionally, some questions are designed to assess a candidate's unique thought process, and AI-powered answers cannot replicate that. The result? Answers that sound impressive on paper but ring hollow in conversation. A ring from my cousin, no "Hi" or "Hello"… Just shot this question "How many levels of interview have you taken in your lifetime?"? Why is he even asking this? The max I have gone through is around 10 levels... and I failed! Dead air from his side - "Are you still there, dude?". Yeah, I thought mine was a lot… what's your count? He is like 3, and a 4th is being scheduled. "Why do they do that? Why so many levels? It is draining, where is the humanity?!" I paused and acknowledged his points… it "IS" draining… it "IS" hectic... But don't we, as candidates, do the evaluate when we are applying with an org? Here is the point, Why Org's have multiple levels of interview.. ? Finding the right fit is critical for a company's success, so they invest a lot in hiring. ? Multiple interviews help them get a complete picture of you – your skills, how do you solve problems, if you would fit in with the team culturally. ? Having different people interview you also makes the process fairer. Is there a better way?? AI could be the answer. Imagine AI-powered tools that assess your skills and personality more efficiently. Discussing our industries on other forums I am seeing frustration with the use of AI , and getting thru the door to actually interview. I appreciate the prescreen that AI affords us as managers , however working for large corps /companies leaves the control out of our hands as hiring managers . There is so much talent already out there RTG and just needs to engage face to face with the employers to lock into a great career. Wouldn’t this be quicker ? I am sure an actual live interview minus the artificial screen-AI and doing (phone calls and reach out) would yield better development of upcoming developing managers and skill as far as interviews and TA.

It's a trust killer and if you're caught using it, how can we trust anything else you say? You're sabotaging yourself.
