We've seen first hand how this trust can set back our restoration effort. In the province, for example, it's very typical to hear stories of fish pond owners would literally run after people proposing rehab projects because they were afraid that their land will be taken away from them. If you don't address that fear and work with these communities to create real benefits, you won't really get anywhere. So we take the time to build relationships, explain the process and ensure that they are part of the project, not just by standards. And so by doing that, and we'll focus experience the people's organizations and Indigenous people groups that we talk to and eventually become partners, become personally invested in the project that we are building. We go through every stage of the project, both the high and low. We'll focus projects succeed because we see local communities as active partners and not as risk that we need to overcome.
