Today we wanted to spotlight some multifamily development happening in the City of Chandler, Arizona. While the city has several multifamily projects approved for development, the following two projects in #UptownChandler are currently underway: 1) Alta Uptown — this is a 415-unit apartment development at the southeast corner of Arizona Avenue and Corporate Place. They are currently leasing as they wrap up construction. 2) Uptown Commons — this is a 252-unit apartment complex located at the northeast corner of Arizona Avenue and Elliot. They are currently doing site work to get ready for vertical construction that will be comprise of three three-story and two four-story buildings. As Chandler continues to approach buildout, we expect to see more "build up" with higher density uses along our major transportation corridors. #EconDev #MultifamilyHousing #Development #ChandlerAZ

Today, WinnDevelopment and development partner Arch Communities announced the start of construction on The Eastwalk, a $47-million, 56-unit, transit-oriented, mixed-income apartment community in Braintree, MA. The five-story apartment community will be built on the former Braintree Electric Light Department (BELD), featuring a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, including 30 affordable units, 20 middle income/workforce units, and six units available at market rates. The development will be certified under Passive House and Energy Star Multifamily New Construction standards and will also create a pedestrian riverwalk along the Monatiquot River. Our initial modelling for this development projected construction to be completed in May of 2026. In an unprecedented turn of events, Redwood has officially delivered 100% of the apartment homes at Redwood West Jefferson as of the end of September 2024, meaning our teams have beaten initial construction schedule projections per financial modelling by approximately 20 months! Galloway collaborated with the client and architect to develop a 3-4 split building—three stories on one side and four on the other—to address a 10-foot grade difference across the 10.43-acre site, eliminating the need and cost of retaining walls.
