Few months ago I wrote a post with tips for navigating employee redundancies. However, in a past few months I spoke with multiple candidates, whose colleagues were let go and it became clear, that there is a huge impact of #layoffs not only on those let go, but on remaining team members as well. As your actions can easily erase the trust your employees have in you and your organisation, let's talk about how should you handle the process of letting people go without disturbing other employees and with a minimal affect on the rest of the team. Here are few tips I have for you: ?? Be open with your leadership and HR?teams to ensure they are equipped to address any concerns or questions raised by remaining employees. ?? Conduct a knowledge transfer session to capture critical information and skills to ensure a smoother transition for the remaining employees. ?? Address any lingering concerns and make an effort to restore confidence in the team's stability. ?? Offer personalised support and team-building activities to boost morale among remaining team members. ?? Learn from the situation, identify areas for improvement and implement changes to avoid having to have similar situations in the future. Anything else to add? Share in the comments!
