Conex is the only genuine manufacturing network that I am aware of. Come along to discover and discuss 21st century manufacturing.
Who uses ConeX? A bunch of proactive, solutions-focused engineers and manufacturers across the UK. That’s who! Our community champions are a diverse group of small businesses, larger SMEs, self employed businesses. And every year we welcome new graduates to the fold - but we'd love to have better graduate representation as new stars play such a critical role in the success of the sector as a whole. Please tag #ConexCommunity in your posts so we can keep track of what you're all up to - and help share your good news. #UKMfg #UKManufacturing #UKEngineering Sam Baynham Rachel Hammond Adam Payne FInstLM Angela Lawlor ??

Are you aware that in a classroom of 30 students here in AZ… not even 15 want to go to college? Many in AZ think that OTJ training styled jobs will replace higher education. I’ll be the first to NOT crush OTJ jobs entirely, but WITHOUT a COLLEGE DEGREE, MOST GOVERNMENT JOBS WILL NEVER BE ATTAINABLE. Nearly EVERY JOB on USAJOBS.GOV REQUIRE BACHELOR DEGREES. Most jobs on LinkedIn or Indeed REQUIRE BACHELOR’S DEGREES. These jobs will NOT be reclassified because newer generations CHOOSE TO NOT GET THE REQUIRED EDUCATION. On the job training styled jobs AVERAGE $22/hr avg.. in AZ.. but the avg lifespan is 55-60 years. YOU DIDN’T PUT IN FOR SSA, YOU DIED BEFORE THAT WAS AN OPTION. Is THAT LOSS OF LIFE really WORTH not going to college?! Instead of being the engineer or foreman, you SETTLED. Was it worth it ?!

????? College might not be for everyone, so what's the alternative? This morning, I was on Scripps News' Morning Rush with Julie Martin to discuss two career pathways: college vs. trade school. Skilled trade workers are a vital part of our workforce and many of those jobs are good-paying union jobs with benefits. Still, employers are saying they can't find enough workers with those in-demand skills and experience. There is opportunity out there. The question is: Is entering a trade school or apprenticeship right out of high school right for you, your kids, or your grandkids? Today's conversation is just the start. Beginning Labor Day, WorkingNation and Scripps News are collaborating on a deeper dive into the subject, examining the pros and cons of college vs. trade school, current opportunities in the trades, and how to get the right training in your community. Join us for Fire Up Your Career: The Skilled Trades. ? Watch this space. More details soon! ?? Meanwhile, watch this morning's conversation below! #workforcedevelopment #skilledtrades #tradeschool #collegevstrades #apprenticeships #FireUpYourCareer #jobs Brian Donlon Hanna Gordola Wrighter Lisa Cohen Kate O'Brian Arthur Bilger Lonia Guha Jane Oates Joan Lynch Melissa Panzer Laura Aka Michael S. Trade schools are a viable route to a well-paying career. WorkingNation editor-in-chief Ramona Schindelheim explains to Scripps News' Julie Martin why these pathways into the skilled trades are worth a look: https://lnkd.in/dQ5re5hu You can learn even more about the skilled trades during WorkingNation’s “Fire Up Your Career: The Skilled Trades,” a week-long collaboration with Scripps News beginning Labor Day. #SkilledTrades #TradeSchool #VocationalSchool #TechnicalSchool #CareerPathways #plumber #electrician #carpenter #technician

According to the NCSEA SE3 Career Advancement topic brief, “White respondents were more likely than all other racial groups to report satisfaction [with career advancement].” These trends are common throughout data reported in NCSEA and SEAONC SE3 publications within our profession. SEAONC SE3 is hosting a panel to inspire conversations about fostering inclusivity and ensuring equitable access to opportunities within our profession – especially for underrepresented racial and ethnic groups. Panelists will discuss their personal experiences within the industry and practical strategies for advocating on behalf of themselves, colleagues, or employees. All structural engineering professionals and students are encouraged to attend, especially those who are part of the BIPOC community. Come to the event ready to listen or actively participate by asking the panelists questions. Afterward, students and young professionals are invited to participate in a round of speed mentoring or join other attendees in networking to continue the discussion.
