Communications plays a key role in influencing employee satisfaction, driving brand awareness and brand reputation, successfully managing key stakeholder relationships, as well as increasing productivity and sales. In our last EGN Group Corporate Communications Leaders meeting, we delved into the pivotal role corporate communications plays within organizations. We explored how to define and measure the value that corporate comms brings and how to effectively promote this value beyond traditional reporting, reaching a broader audience in the organization. Additionally, we shared our experiences of collaborating with CEOs, discussing strategies to gain better access and position ourselves as trusted strategic allies to executive leadership. https://lnkd.in/eqkrpAwt As we begin to approach mid year, time to reflect on associate engagement! It is critical for leaders to not only show up but to be engaged themselves. It is ok to make mistakes (I have made several) but it is how you recover and reset that can positively impact engagement.

For more than four years, I’ve been hosting free monthly office hours and roundtables for leaders and changemakers. This Thursday, September 19th will be the last one (for now). When I started bringing folks together virtually during Covid, these sessions were a way to connect when we were physically apart. As things began to open up again, they served as a space for people from all over the world to come together and brainstorm how to build and sustain people-centered change cultures in tumultuous times. More recently, we’ve dug into the nitty gritty details of strategic change, understanding how it works, how we can leverage curiosity and compassion to craft communication that inspires behavioral change, and how leaders can truly lead change well. And: in 15+ years of building and leading change strategies, I’ve seen some things. Things that deserve more airtime than an hour. I’ve developed a methodology that does change management a little differently than the big guys. I’ve worked with organizations with over 100k employees, and organizations of one. I’ve studied what makes people change and tested how to tap into what matters most to folks (hint: it’s not asking WIIFM?). I’m back on the road, speaking on stages, meeting my clients and collaborators IRL, and still Zooming with folks across the globe. So — I’m developing a new resource. One that isn’t restricted to a single hour every month. Something that I think will provide incredible value to leaders and changemakers and meet them where they are when they need it most. Curious? Telemetry has been building our reputation for editorial content publishing services that help educate car buyers. But did you know we also support numerous organizations with employee outreach through internal communications? We recently analyzed two months of content we created for one client, a multi-billion dollar company with thousands of employees – measuring engagement to identify themes we can utilize for future posts. The result? To no one's surprise, the top 10 posts with the highest social and intranet engagement were focused on leadership and lessons/updates from leadership. While it may be tempting to overlook, the power of clear communication from leaders can't be overstated.
