At the #FedScoopFedForum, Matthew T. Cornelius, Managing Director of Federal Industry at Workday, led a discussion with Suzette Kent, former Federal CIO, and Kristine Korva, Human Capital Offering Portfolio Leader for Government and Public Services at Deloitte, on how shared services are shaping the federal landscape. Kent outlined key “north stars” for agency leaders in optimizing and modernizing shared services, emphasizing efficiency and reducing costs. Korva shared insights from both government and industry perspectives on modernizing shared service delivery and the key considerations shaping future innovation. The panel also explored the critical roles and skills needed across government and industry to scale secure, modern shared services. They discussed immediate steps agencies can take to upskill the workforce, address talent gaps, and navigate barriers to implementation. Finally, the conversation highlighted AI’s potential to enhance shared services by improving workflows, reducing burdens, and increasing operational efficiency. Great to see Suzette Kent at Workday… always leading transformation in Federal.
Way to go, Matthew T. Cornelius, for moderating a power panel!
Great to see Suzette Kent bringing her exceptional federal technology leadership to the #FedScoopFedForum! At data2, we've seen firsthand how the "north stars" she outlined for agency leaders - efficiency, cost reduction, and modernization - are essential guideposts for successful technology transformation. The panel's discussion on workforce upskilling and talent gaps particularly resonates with our experience implementing knowledge graph and AI solutions across government agencies. Building the right mix of technical and domain expertise remains one of the biggest challenges to modernization. I was especially interested in their insights on AI's potential to enhance shared services. Our work has demonstrated that AI can dramatically improve workflows and operational efficiency, but only when built on a solid data foundation that connects previously siloed information. Suzette continues to be an important voice in federal technology transformation, and we're fortunate to have her expertise as part of our board at Data2. These conversations are crucial as agencies navigate the complex intersection of shared services, workforce development, and emerging technologies.
