June is Pride Month! ????? For the month of June, we'll have some weekly LGBTQ+ Housing facts for you. The LGBTQ+ community tends to be significantly younger than the non-LGBTQ+ population. Specifically, 52% of individuals identifying as LGBTQ+ are under 35 years old, while only 23% of those identifying as straight and cisgender fall into the same age group. These age disparities account for roughly half of the difference in homeownership rates between LGBTQ+ and non-LGBTQ+ individuals, as younger people are generally less likely to own homes compared to older individuals.

Supporting parents and caregivers is a crucial part of creating affirming environments for transgender and nonbinary youth. At Undead Voice, we’ve seen firsthand how important it is to provide education about voice dysphoria and help families better understand their loved ones’ experiences. We’re excited to see organizations like The Trevor Project conducting research to elevate the voices of those who play such an integral role in supporting LGBTQ+ youth.
