When a person approaches us for help, instead of assuming a heteronormative identity or relationship, we now keep the interview questions open. We are aware that to provide proper support to the community, we need to gather a vast amount of knowledge and experience. June is Pride Month! ????? For the month of June, we'll have some weekly LGBTQ+ Housing facts for you. The LGBTQ+ community tends to be significantly younger than the non-LGBTQ+ population. Specifically, 52% of individuals identifying as LGBTQ+ are under 35 years old, while only 23% of those identifying as straight and cisgender fall into the same age group. These age disparities account for roughly half of the difference in homeownership rates between LGBTQ+ and non-LGBTQ+ individuals, as younger people are generally less likely to own homes compared to older individuals.
