It's almost here - National No Smoking Day! ???? On the horizon, March 13, 2024, beckons as more than just a date. It stands as a rallying point for health crusaders and individuals looking to make a life-changing shift away from cigarettes. This UK-specific observance comes to life every second Wednesday of March and this year, it carries a profound significance for those contemplating a smoke-free future. In the grand tapestry of health initiatives, National No Smoking Day shines as a cornerstone event.?? Its essential purpose? To inspire smokers across our nation to take that courageous step toward cessation. For many, it serves as the catalyst in their journey towards better health, breathing life into aspirations of longevity and wellness. Imagine the collective impact when hundreds, even thousands, join this movement in unison! Drawing parallels, just as we opt-in for cookies on NHS and other websites—small choices towards a more personalised and insightful online experience—we can also choose to say "no" to smoking, a small but mighty step towards a healthier life. Each decision shapes our journey, and just like selecting our cookie preferences, opting to quit smoking is choosing to personalise our health journey for the better. So, whether you're a smoker looking to put an end to the habit, or you know someone who might find this day to be the motivation they need, let's support and uplift one another. ?? Engage in discussions, share your success stories, and offer empathy—after all, the path to quitting is often a challenge, but one well worth embarking upon. As the day approaches, let's remember the power of collective action in giving up smoking. Together, we can create waves of positive change. I'd love to read your thoughts and experiences - how has quitting smoking changed your life for the better? Join the conversation and let's mark our calendars. This National No Smoking Day, be part of a transformation that begins with a single, smoke-free breath. ?? #NoSmokingDay #HealthFirst #SmokeFreeFuture

A survey from Action on Smoking and Health (UK) has found that nearly three million people in Britain have successfully quit smoking with the aid of vapes in the last five years. This new insight reinforces the effectiveness of vaping in creating a viable pathway to assist smokers in transitioning to reduced-risk alternatives and providing a benefit to public health. ? The survey also highlights the need for great education around reduced-risk products, with half of adults in the UK believing that vaping is as harmful as smoking, when in reality, Public Health England estimates that it is 95% less harmful. ? It is statistics like these that demonstrate the value and importance of the work we do at Plxsur, especially during the month of Stoptober. We are aligned with NHS England during their Stoptober campaign and, as a responsible vaping company, we remain focused on educating consumers to have a better understanding of vaping and empowering them to make positive health choices. ? To find out more see the NHS Stoptober website here: https://lnkd.in/eAktXbJ ? For more information on the survey see the ASH website here: https://ash.org.uk/ ? #Plxsur #Stoptober #SmokeFree #Vaping

Now we have your attention. Let’s talk about bras and boobs of all sizes. When someone collapses from cardiac arrest, every second counts. But if that person is a woman, she's far less likely to get CPR or be defibrillated. Why? Bystanders hesitate. Sometimes it’s discomfort about removing her bra, fear of touching her chest, or just not recognising what a heart attack even looks like in a woman. But holding back over saving a life? That's a mindset we can't afford. Boobs are more than just a barrier. From smaller bras to larger bras and everything in between, they can get in the way of properly placing defibrillator pads. Big, small, and in between, any bra has to go so the shock can do its work. The underwire doesn’t hurt her, but it does interfere with the shock, so yes, it’s got to go. But let’s be real, this hesitation isn’t just about bras. It’s the discomfort, the squeamishness about touching a woman’s chest. It’s the fear of crossing a line in a moment that demands action. And while people stand there deciding what’s appropriate, lives slip away. We cannot let embarrassment, fear, or outdated ideas about women’s bodies keep us from doing what’s needed. Each second we wait? That’s survival slipping further out of reach. This is not a choice. It’s life or death, and our comfort should never come before someone’s life. So whatever you call them, boobs, breasts, or jugs—big, small, or somewhere in between, get them out of the way when it’s time to act. Saving a life means removing the bra, and that’s that. ??
