I’ve been in supply chain for over 15 years and in that time I’ve seen a modest shift in the number of women in the field. However, the number of executives in supply chain remains relatively stagnant year over year. Supply chain leaders need to completely rethink the way they talent manage, mentor and sponsor future leaders. If your future leader bench is full of people who look alike with the same pedigree, women (ESPECIALLY women of color) will continue to fall out of the pipeline. We need to change our approach to developing women leaders in supply chain.
