Do you communicate with impact? ??? I had the invigorating experience of leading a workshop for my incredible client Northwell Health with 75 inspiring women from the Women in Healthcare Business Employee Resource Group (BERG) at their end-of-year celebration. During the workshop, we delved into the art of effective communication, exploring strategies and techniques to enhance our ability to connect, inspire, and influence. How do we remember to do this more frequently? We get out of our own limiting narrative and try on the Party Host metaphor ??- When we host a party for our closest friends and family our focus is on them and not on ourselves: - Are our guests comfortable? - Is the food out? Do we have enough drinks? And it isn’t: - What do they think of me? - What about my home? The shift in thinking brings focus to those who receive us instead the noise that doesn’t serve us. ??Strong networks, strong careers: Why Women Should Network?? In today's business world, networks are essential to career success, especially for women. Studies continue to show the importance of strong networks for women to advance their careers and empower each other. For example, a recent study in the Harvard Business Review (March 2024) highlights that women who are actively involved in high-level networks not only earn higher salaries, but also achieve their professional goals more effectively. Networks provide a platform for women to share, support and overcome challenges together. Here are the key findings ?? ? ???? Why do women's networks matter? ? ?? Empowerment and support: They provide women with spaces for sharing, inspiration and mutual motivation. ? ?? Exchange and knowledge transfer: Women develop innovative solutions together and strengthen their community through shared knowledge. ?? Access to resources and opportunities: Networks open up access to mentors, business partners and professional opportunities. Women in Packaging - Network! ? In the packaging industry, it is also important for women to build and maintain their own networks. Luckily, there are role models: Think of personalities like Sonja B?hr, a recognized industry expert, or inspiring experts like Vera Strauch from the #FemaleLeadershipAcademy. ? These and many more women will share their valuable experience and enthusiasm for packaging topics at the Women4Packaging event at #FACHPACK. When we are climbing to the "top," we imagine everyone, especially anyone who looks like us, is our competition. When facing burnout or a setback, it feels like burden falls on us to figure out a way forward on our own. But this is a fallacy. Now more than ever, women are redefining leadership, networking, and our career journeys?on our own terms. In this way, we stand solidly in our integrity, knowing that this will not only bring us more success, but also bring?more of us?success. Next week I will be in London to receive a Special Recognition Award from Bola Olabisi FRSA at the Global Women Inventors and Innovation Awards, this year focused on WOMEN DRIVING THE GROWTH OF #SUSTAINABILITY, #RESPONSIBLEINNOVATION & #INCLUSIVITY. I love how diverse these awards are with women nominees from every part of the world and industry - and I’m really looking forward to meeting many of them. A massive congrats to the Global WIIN team as having set up my own awards in the past I know how much time and effort go into them! I tell women to never accept accolades saying they are “humbled” so I am not saying that about this award :) The fact is, I deserve it because over the last 10 years I’ve made huge personal sacrifices in the name of pushing things forward in this space. The more recognition I can get the more pathways I can create for others to be amplified and supported - my life’s work! I’m brave, I’m bold and I’m proud of me. …. Women ARE driving the growth of sustainability, responsible innovation and inclusivity and need to be recognised and connected. Look around … We may be on the brink of a WW3 Climate breakdown is accelerating Much of the world is starving We need new solutions but it’s often made to seem we are still in search of them when for the most part, they have already been invented. We just aren’t hearing from everyone. Inclusivity is not a zero sum game where one sex ‘wins’ another looses, it’s about us all surviving and thriving. I’m 2023 my business partner Tara Stevens and I made the move to rebrand from the Warrior Women Network to WARRIOR GROUP NETWORK, connecting enterprises to our global pioneers from ALL underrepresented groups. I look forward to partnerships with Global WIIN to accelerate the thinking of all past and present winners by connecting them to companies who want to learn what they don’t know from the people they can’t access from the current expert networks, those who only connect to the usual suspects upholding the status quo rather than leading the future. #globalwiin
