Did you know that the movies, Wicked and the Wizard of Oz, have connections to Wisconsin? ?? ?? ???????????? An actress from Mazomanie, Wisconsin has a historic role in Wicked. Marissa Bode plays Nessarose, the Wicked Witch of the West’s (Elphaba’s sister). She is the first actress living with a disability to take on this iconic musical character. On Aug, 12, 1939, the first publicized showing of the final, edited film, “Wiard of Oz” was at the Strand Theatre in Oconomowoc. And Meinhardt Raabe was one of Wisconsin's best-loved media personalities. For almost three decades Raabe played Little Oscar, "the World's Smallest Chef," driving the OSCAR MAYER FOODS company's Wienermobile and appearing in countless advertisements and promotional events.
