Uniform corn plant emergence is a critical step towards maximizing genetic yield potential. When uneven emergence occurs, late emerging plants are at a disadvantage in competing for resources (e.g., water, nutrients) compared to earlier-emerged plants, resulting in smaller ears. This client was testing emergence on different seed treatments. Attached is the supplementary material for the genomic sequence of P cineraria plant, leaves and root system. Ali Rashid, the author was kind enough to let me post this. This was supplementary data for his paper on the genomic sequence of Prosopis cineraria (Our group published a paper showing that when a seed was germinated at the top of a 3 m column wiht moist soil and only watered for 18 months at the 3 meter depth- all the nodules were in the moist zone at 3 meters)

MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF SUGARCANE Sugarcane varies morphologically with respect to stalk length, stalk diameter, internode length,stalk colour (both at vegetative and maturity stage), number of millable canes, internode per stalk, juice brix %, bud shape and groove. These traits are either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and contribute to the overall yield (in terms of quality and quantity). Characterization can be conducted using approved IBPGR (International Board for Plant Genetic resources) descriptors. #sugarcanebreeding #morphologicaltraits #caneyield #juicebrix

Long noncoding RNAs underlie multiple domestication traits and leafhopper resistance in soybean Multiple quantitative trait loci modulating distinct domestication traits in soybeans are pleiotropic effects of a locus composed of two tandem lncRNA genes. The inverted repeats were formed before the divergence of the Glycine genus from the Phaseolus–Vigna lineage and exhibit strong structure–function constraints.
