This weekend I attended the Women In Media UCSB Spring Conference, learning from film and media professionals in areas such as production, marketing, journalism, content creation, and more. These women were incredible and wildly intelligent, a few being screenwriter Katie Mathewson, former editor in chief Michelle Lee, and Assistant Director Liz Tan. We received advice, weaknesses, successes, and overall uplifted one another this weekend. Tactical information about each position and project was discussed, but what was striking was the emphasis on balance, mindfulness, and being unapologetically yourself. As women, we need to be pushing for one another's successes in this competitive industry, to which I am so grateful to have been able to listen to panels of driven and hard-working women this weekend. #WomeninMedia #UCSB
