There is always a choice to be made if one is going to be passive and let things just happen to them; or are they going to make moves consciously and actively. 5 Differences between Players and Spectators: - Spectators standby -> Players take risks. - Spectators comment -> Players make decisions. - Spectators see limits -> Players see opportunities. - Spectators rely on luck -> Players rely on preparation. - Spectators stay comfortable -> Players embrace challenges. Decide which side of the game you will be on. Will you be on the stands looking at people play or will get out there on the field and play? Over the weekend, I went to the Dungeon and Dragon show, an off-Broadway interactive and engaging experience. The show, along with the entirety of D&D, immerses a party of roleplaying players in a specific quest and challenges meticulously crafted by a Game Master. This GM build the encounters and their strength to meet the skillset and capabilities of the players, making it reasonably challenging for them. In life, we often encounter challenges without a predetermined difficulty level. We set goals without knowing the obstacles ahead. It all comes down to trust. Trust in the GM force of life, trust in your abilities and instincts, and trust in your companions on the journey. Trust and luck play pivotal roles in any successful adventure, be it in D&D or in real life. Trust is the only factor that we directly control. And our strategy drives our luck through it.
