Barriers to mental health licensure threaten to exacerbate a severe shortage of mental health providers in Minnesota. Wilder Research and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Center for Rural Behavioral Health at Minnesota State University, Mankato surveyed recent graduates from master's programs in Minnesota to identify the barriers that prevent them from licensure in social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy.
