How can we inspire inclusion within the HPC community? To celebrate International Women's Day 2024, Jenny Wong and I teamed up to represent Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC) during an event that discussed the value of diversity in science. The discussion among the audience highlighted three areas where we need to improve diversity: in the workplace, at events and when hiring new talent. From this, we have compiled a list of suggestions to serve as a guiding framework for our collective efforts to foster diversity. ? Check it out in this blog post! ?? Inspiring encounters to celebrate women in industry and raise awareness among younger generations! ????????. We recently had the pleasure of hosting two significant events: ? In Woippy, middle school students took part in the Women in Tech initiative, designed to inspire young people—especially girls—to explore careers in technical and industrial fields. This initiative is a collaborative project led by the local media Le Républicain Lorrain and UIMM Lorraine. Together, they partnered with 7 middle schools in Lorraine to create videos highlighting the role of women in 7 companies across the region. Thanks to our colleague Audrey Munier , project Manager, who took part to this initiative. ? In Le Mans, women visited our factory to engage with our female employees, exchanging insights about their careers and sharing their passion and experiences. ?? These moments of sharing and exchange are essential for promoting diversity and inspiring future vocations. A big thank to all the participants and organizers for their dedication.
