I define success?as making impact -- long-lasting impact that makes lives better, especially for those who need it most. The most successful people I know are the local peacebuilders I worked with at?Search for Common Ground and other unsung heroes dedicated to helping others.? I aspire to reach their level and build upon their success. I believe our team at Wicked Saints Studios is close. (That's right, keep an eye on us ??) In this interview with Makers, talk about my definition of success and that I had to learn how to speak to all definitions?of success. ?A while back, one of my investors challenged me about not talking about my successes more. "I haven't done what I've set out to do yet," I told him. He explained that it was a necessary part of reaching our goals. I'm a young black woman who has raised over $5M in venture capital. That puts me on a historic list. It shouldn't. But hey, that brings me full circle back to success. Success is changing enough hearts and minds that I'm just one of many --so common, it's not even worth counting. These are the values that should be encouraged with all sorts of compensation including financial. Why is society fooled by people who hate them and draw unchecked power from them? Why are addicts in the trillionare race getting all the cooperation?
