Did you know that 1 in 8 Georgians are food insecure? Even more alarming is that 1 in 5 children in Georgia are food insecure.? That means they have little to no access to healthy, nutritious foods on a daily basis. When fresh, healthy food isn't available, what's left is packaged, processed food loaded with sugar or sodium – all ingredients that lead to chronic diseases like diabetes and stroke. Wholesome Wave Georgia’s Food For Health Program aims to work with individuals suffering from diet-related diseases to provide increased fresh, healthy produce alongside health screenings, educational classes, and opportunities for increased movement. We need your support to continue offering and expanding programs like this one. Please consider donating to WWG today or coming up on December 3rd for Giving Tuesday through the link below. https://lnkd.in/eHCCQmyD

The joy of the holidays comes with a harsh reality this year: more children are experiencing hunger, according to a new report from the USDA. The number of food insecure households continued to rise in 2023, up to 13.5%. This is an increase over the 12.8% in 2022, and 10.2% in 2021. At Pack Away Hunger, our works put highly nutritious meals into the hands of those that need them most. A donation to Pack Away Hunger this holiday season increases access to nutritious meals in Indiana and around the world. https://lnkd.in/gc2jDFUF

Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio's Food for All program was created by partnering with social service agencies and churches in rural eastern counties of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Together, we reduce hunger in our rural communities in places more challenged to find affordable, nutritionally dense food. These areas, sometimes known as food deserts, are more common than you’d think. They are found in urban neighborhoods and rural towns where access to fresh, healthy, and affordable food is limited. Instead of supermarkets and grocery stores, these communities may be served only by fast food restaurants and convenience stores that offer few healthy, affordable food options. The lack of access contributes to a poor diet and may lead to higher levels of obesity and other diet-related diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease. We distribute food to struggling families in rural Adams, Brown, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton and Highland Counties, and so far, this year, we have served 412,087 meals! Our Food for All program wouldn't exist without the support of donors, donors like YOU! Your generous financial commitment will help change and even save lives! So please consider Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio in your end-of-year giving plans. Donating to Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio is EASY and an active response to give back in gratitude for all the blessings we enjoy. Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio's tax ID# is 31-0536968. Checks can be sent to 7162 Reading Road, Ste. 600, Cincinnati, OH 45237, or give securely online at ccswoh.org/donate. Questions? Contact Dan Sarell at [email protected] or (513) 672-3710.

In the U.S., 13 million children live in food-insecure homes. For many of these kids, school lunch is their only meal of the day, yet the current funding of $4.43 per meal is simply not enough to provide the nutritious food they need to thrive. That’s why I’m participating in the $5 Boost Campaign—a mission to raise funds for HydroTowers and Independence Gardens' cooking program, Come and EAT IT. These initiatives bring fresh, healthy food directly into schools, empowering students to learn and grow. ?? Here’s How You Can Help: - Donate just $5 to make a difference in a child’s life. Your contribution will help us reach our goal and ensure that kids have access to the healthy meals they deserve. ?? If you’re in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, join us on September 14th for our Food Fight event—a chef competition focused on transforming school lunch. Can’t make it in person? No problem! Your $5 donation also gives you access to the virtual event, so you can watch the action live. Let’s come together to fight for a future where no child has to worry about their next meal. Facing the choice between essentials like milk or electricity, eggs or medications, and even poultry or housing shouldn't be a reality for anyone. Yet, for 1 in 3 of our neighbors facing food insecurity across Massachusetts, these are some of the tough decisions they have to make daily. Thank?you to Esha Walia and Boston Globe Media for their recent article highlighting how grocery prices have surged 25% since 2019, forcing twice as many families to seek food assistance compared to pre-pandemic levels and making affording nutritious food more difficult than ever. That’s why GBFB exists. We are here to help and fuel the charitable food system that is responding to this chronic surge in food assistance need. With our purchasing power, we acquire and distribute healthy free food to our neighbors facing food insecurity through a robust network of 600 community partners. That means for every $1 you donate, 2 meals will be provided to a neighbor in need across the 190 cities and towns we serve. Together, we have the power to put healthy meals on our neighbors' tables and end hunger here. Check out The Boston Globe article mentioned to learn more: https://lnkd.in/dGYTWGFc
