How are #women around the world taking on leadership roles during crises? Our latest report outlines six of the ways that women are leading their families and communities and influencing local #governments to change the systems around them. Despite the impact they have, women are underrepresented in the global discourse. 95% of media coverage of conflicts since 2013 overlooks women, their roles, and their experiences. When men are chosen for leadership roles over women we send out the message: men are in charge, women are not. Of course, men may be right for leadership roles 50% of the time. But 95% of the time? That cannot be right. Men cannot abuse women without believing they are somehow superior. To disrupt misogyny we need to support women in leadership. This signals women are not inferior to men. #ThrowbackThursday: Reflecting on the "Where is the Pipeline?" Roundtable? The report from the National Housing Federation in September 2023, "How diverse is England’s housing association workforce in 2023?" reveals the enduring challenges of diversity and inclusion within our sector. Women constitute 54% of the workforce yet hold only 47% of executive roles. The imbalance in GEM (Global Ethnic Majority) representation is even more pronounced and despite our efforts, nothing has changed until today. A year ago, we gathered to discuss the critical need for GEM (Global Ethnic Majority) leadership programmes in the housing sector. Our roundtable uncovered essential insights and strategies that remain vital today. From addressing systemic biases to fostering innovation and building stronger community relationships, the themes we explored continue to guide our efforts towards a more inclusive future. In contemporary society, Native women continue to be leaders and advocates for their communities, addressing issues such as social justice, environmental conservation, and cultural preservation. Many Native women are prominent figures in politics, activism, academia, and the arts, working tirelessly to advance the rights and well-being of Indigenous peoples. Organizations led by Native women are at the forefront of efforts to address pressing issues such as violence against Indigenous women, access to healthcare and education, and economic empowerment. Despite facing systemic challenges and historical marginalization, Native women persist as resilient leaders, drawing upon their cultural heritage and traditions to inspire positive change in their communities and beyond.

How do we inspire young girls to pursue a meaningful career in politics and purpose driven leadership?
