It is with great sadness that we share that our dear friend and staff member, Chet Bernard, passed away today, in the early morning hours. For several years, Chet has been managing our Employment and Education programs, helping individuals gain the skills to get back on their feet and become financially stable. Through facilitating financial and digital literacy classes, teaching English as a Second Language, helping people gain their GED certificates or other vocational certifications, helping them find jobs, creating or sprucing up resumes and interviewing skills, and more, Chet made a significant impact on the lives of thousands of WHAM clients. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved football, and was an integral part of our team. WHAM was Chet’s family and we are truly going to miss him. If you would like to assist with Chet's funeral and other related costs, please feel free to reach out to us, and we will be happy to assist. #ourfriend #communitychampion #honor #praying #foreverwithus
I've met him once before, for career assistance. He was kind, smart, and very professional. And his words provided me assurance that I was doing all I could to push forward during a very difficult time. Deeply saddened by this loss, and I hope for the best for his family.
I have no words. I’ve never seen Chet without a smile on his face. He was the epitome of service and I am happy to have been in his presence. Praying for peace and strength for his family and all that knew him ??
I’m so glad I had the wonderful experience working with Chet. He always had an upbeat spirit.
Oh no ..??
RIP Chet. It sounds like WHAM will not be the same without you.
