The issue of low-quality in-kind donations is a well-known problem in both charity work and disaster response operations. Arizona State University’s Mahyar Eftekhar, an associate professor of supply chain management at the W. P. Last week, Anick Silencieux from Support Black Charities shared a workshop with our team on Black Philanthropy in Canada. One central theme throughout Anick’s presentation was the importance of uplifting and elevating your community. This is a common motivation for why people give, and it left us with some reflections that we wanted to share with you: ?? What does elevating my community mean to me? ?? How can I incorporate elevating my community into my charitable giving? ?? What steps can I take to get started?
