The latest issue of Health System News showcases some of the many important and innovative educational programs designed and delivered by Ontario hospitals. For example, CAMH is tackling the opioid crisis through #educationinnovation with the creation of Virtual Reality Opioid Overdose Response Training. It was developed by the CAMH Simulation Centre, North America's first simulation centre focused on teaching, research and quality improvement at all levels of mental health education. A pilot program at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine aims to train students to become mental health ambassadors who can build a network of peer-to-peer support across campus. Known as the Peer Wellness Program, this new initiative driven by ICOM’s Behavioral Health Department, aims to build a culture of mental health and wellness within the campus community.
