I was debating the difference in videos we'll be seeing amongst all the different platforms especially with the push LinkedIn is now doing in this direction too. Length-wise we're seeing content doing well on LinkedIn of all sorts - ranging from 1 to 90 seconds. LinkedIn seems to value the variety in your content above most other characteristics. Content-wise, education and interview style videos are showing very good engagement levels here but don't forget to diversify with entertaining content too. From what I'm seeing, LinkedIn is trying to be able to cover everything in one place but as most creators are beginning to diversify I would say it's not a smart idea to bank only on a single platform. Build a social media empire, not just a single-platform kingdom.

Obviously, the big news of the week in the retail world when it comes to leadership changes. We are a big fan of what Chipotle has done with their "Chipotlane" concept and what the brand has done for customers over the years, so it will be interesting to see how the new CEO does! Niccol did some great things during his tenure. As a player working with some of the top companies in the retail space, we know that with great brands, there is never a dull moment and things change! As they say....when one door closes, a new one always opens. Good read on the change that will influence two premier companies. #retaildevelopment

Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza introduces LTOs in sync with the seasons, said #CMO Cindy Syracuse during the “Impactful Innovation” general session. When the chain brought in Mike's Hot Honey for a sweet-heat promotion, it was cross-utilized in three items: #Pizza, #wings and a #margarita. To determine whether an LTO will make it to the permanent menu or make a return appearance, Syracuse said it should achieve 4% of the sales mix without cannibalizing other menu items. Hmm??. Yes, brands, companies, face challenges, and relevancy can be among them. I think Ms. Masino has been CEO of Cracker Barrel for coming up on a year. Is it not part of the CEO’s job to keep, make their brand(s), and company relevant? Of course, sometimes relevancy can wane, and acknowledging the truth is critical as is doing what is necessary to get it back on-track. But, might not there be a way to communicate its challenge(s) in a more hopeful, optimistic, forward looking, inspiring, confidence building, motivating way, versus publicly throwing it under the bus and facilitating a stock price/company value decline? Words, how they’re spoken, to whom they’re spoken, where they’re spoken, when they’re spoken, matter, especially if one is in a leadership position like CEO. #crackerbarrel

Great read. Leadership starts at the top. Brian Niccol is the CEO of Chipotle. Did you know that since he was announced CEO in 2018, Chipotle shares are up 556%? For comparison during that same timeframe: S&P 500 - 89% McDonalds - 79% Apple - 275% Amazon - 119% A large part of the reason Chipotle is successful outside of the obvious (food) is because they place a huge emphasis on establishing culture. Chipotle emphasizes promoting employees from within to higher level positions and offering employment perks. Niccol states that "people want to be a part of a winning culture, a caring culture, a growing culture." There are many takeaways from his Q&A with Yahoo Finance, but here are a few that hit home for myself. 1. "People that are committed to getting things done get things done." Unexpected things happen in life, which can lead to unexpected doors being opened or closed. If you have established the habit of always getting things done you will inevitably figure it out and get the task at hand done. 2. You must be highly resilient and maintain your integrity. If you do not operate with integrity, you may believe that you can still be successful. However, 2024 has been a year of exposure and those that have failed to act with integrity have been exposed.
