Today is voting day in the US! Have you made your voice heard? As the daughter of a career Army officer educated at West Point, I grew up knowing that freedom isn’t free. Our right to vote is one of the most powerful freedoms we have, and it’s not just a privilege; it’s a duty. During COVID, I learned firsthand that every voice matters. As Vice Chair of Government Affairs at the Live Events Coalition, I joined a small but mighty group that GOT LOUD for our industry. Meeting with over 100 Members of Congress, we fought for our livelihoods when the Live Events Industry went dark. We could have given in to the moment, but instead, we chose action. One by one by one, we pushed to make a difference—and had success. We got a bill passed through the House of Representatives (which, sadly, died in the Senate… but still). Work that takes other groups DECADES to achieve, we accomplished in 18 months. Why? Because we, as individuals, made the effort and stood up to make a difference. Would I do it all again? You bet I would, even though we didn’t quite get the funding we so desperately needed for the 2 million small businesses in our industry, many of which sadly closed down because of the pandemic. That foundational work is still being used today to take our industry forward. Our efforts were not in vain. When we stay silent, we hand over our power and leave decisions about our future in someone else’s hands. Voting is how we honor the generations who sacrificed for our freedom. It’s how we ensure that the ideals of our Constitution—equality, justice, and the pursuit of happiness—stay strong and meaningful. Every vote is a voice for a stronger, more inclusive nation, and I truly believe that each one matters. Our freedom and democracy is too important to ignore. So, if you haven’t already voted early and think your voice won’t make a difference—trust me, it does. Stand up for what matters, just like those before us who fought for our freedoms. Today, be part of the action. Go vote, and let your voice be heard. And let's not forget—it's a privilege many around the world still fight for. VOTE! #TakeAStand #HonorOurFreedoms #Vote #Democracy

As citizens, it is not only our right but also our responsibility to participate in shaping the future of our nation. With each vote cast, we contribute to the collective voice that guides policies, elects leaders, and determines the direction of our society. Every election cycle presents us with an opportunity to make a difference, to advocate for the values and principles we believe in, and to stand up for what matters most to us. Whether it's issues like healthcare, education, the economy, social justice, or the environment, our votes carry the power to influence change and create a better tomorrow for ourselves and future generations. It's essential to recognize that every vote counts. In a democracy, the strength of our democracy lies in the active participation of its citizens. By exercising our right to vote, we honor the sacrifices made by those who fought for our freedoms and ensure that our voices are heard in the corridors of power. Moreover, voting is not just about casting a ballot; it's about engaging in civil discourse, staying informed about candidates and policies, and holding elected officials accountable for their actions. It's about being an active participant in the democratic process and contributing to the ongoing conversation about the kind of society we want to live in. So let's come together, across all divides, and make our voices heard. Let's engage in meaningful dialogue, educate ourselves and others, and turn out in record numbers to vote. Because when we do, we reaffirm the fundamental principles of democracy and take a crucial step towards building a brighter, more inclusive future for all. #YourVoteCounts #ShapeTheFuture #DemocracyInAction #VoteResponsibly #MakeADifference #EngageAndEmpower #StandUpForChange #BeAVoter #ActiveCitizenship #TogetherWeCan

Reps. Jared Golden and?Marie Gluesenkamp Perez?are right. Our democracy isn’t delivering value for everyday voters and it needs an upgrade: "Americans across party and ideology see a Congress that seems unrepresentative of their communities and values and has become increasingly partisan, dysfunctional and unproductive... We have a responsibility to listen to the calls for change, take them seriously and offer reforms that can restore faith in our democracy." Both leaders are bringing attention to reforms like #RankedChoiceVoting and?#ProportionalRepresentation with multi-member districts. These are common-sense improvements that would empower American voters and reward representatives who work together on the problems facing the American people.

A lot of what I see says he won hands down. Everyone needs to make sure all in their local communities are registered and vote. 47% of evangelicals did not vote last time, that would have gotten Trump in by a huge margin. 10 million gun owners are not registered. If people are too lazy to vote, then went it goes bad, you know why! The best turnout ever was 63%. So thats leaves 90 million who whichever way can change it all. If you want a republic to thrive you have to participate. A republic is far better than a mob-rule democracy. Is that 63% based on registered voters or eligible voters. If you care get all to register and vote. https://lnkd.in/gsS-JkHU?

Have you voted? I did! "Vote today, Unite tomorrow" It's finally #ElectionDay—the time has come to make our voices heard. Be sure to cast your vote if you haven't already.?Your vote, and mine—each single vote—holds the power to shape the outcome and stands as one of the strongest expressions we have. As our nation awaits the outcome of this election, it's natural that many will feel strongly about the results. For some, this may bring joy and hope, while for others, disappointment may run deep. But in these moments, it's essential to remember that we are all bound together as one country, and we will endure, regardless of the election’s outcome. We’re not just blue states or red states; we are the United States of America. It's not about going Left or Right—it’s about moving Forward together. Above all, let’s hold fast to our commitment to civility and unity. After today, let’s rebuild connections with neighbors, family, and friends, remembering that politics is one form of expression–– an opportunity for learning and debate—not a reason for division. Let's not forget––no one election or candidate is bigger than the principles upon which our nation was built, and history shows us that our system is designed to heal, adapt, and grow stronger over time. Our democracy thrives on the peaceful transfer of power—a hallmark that has been a cornerstone of American resilience for nearly 250 years. Let’s come together to respect the voice of our collective democratic process and uphold the values that make our country a beacon of hope in the world. Yes, this is a historic election, and the responsibility lies with each of us to demonstrate the united strength of the American people. You and I both have a vital role to play in this moment. America faces significant challenges that require resolution and focused effort. We are strongest when united, working toward a future that ensures peace, security, and prosperity for all Americans—especially for the generations to come. We owe it to them to do the right thing today and the American dream must thrive and go on! Let’s stand firm in our shared purpose, uplift each other, and move forward as one. Together, we can continue building a country that thrives in unity, resilience, and respect for democracy. Whatever happens today, America wins.

We. Are. Not. Going. Back. I understand the assignment. Do you? I flew back from traveling in Europe to vote. That’s how important each and every vote is. As Bruce Springsteen said in his endorsement of Kamala Harris, “I’ve only got one vote, and it’s one of the most precious possessions that I have. That’s why come Nov. 5 I’ll be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.” This election is about choosing democracy over fascism. It’s that simple. “This unequivocal, dispiriting truth — Donald Trump is not fit to be president — should be enough for any voter who cares about the health of our country and the stability of our democracy to deny him re-election. For this reason, regardless of any political disagreements voters might have with her, Kamala Harris is the only patriotic choice for president.” - The New York Times editorial board Liz Cheney, a Republican, explaining why Americans should support Kamala Harris and our democracy in this election said, “Help us right the ship of our democracy so that history will say of us: when our time of testing came, we did our duty, and we prevailed because we loved our country more.” Let’s all do our duty and save democracy and our human rights. The people I talked to in Europe are also counting on us to do the right thing. ?? #humanrights #womensrights #leadership #politics #democracy #vote #harris2024 #speakup #standup

As Kathryn Guarini says it's every citizens responsibility as well as right to vote in every election. Make sure your voice heard and cast your vote. Make sure you review what's on your local ballot before you go to the polls to know who you want to vote for and any other items on your ballot. Do your own research and vote. In North Carolina for example we have a constitutional amendment to change the wording of who is allowed to vote. The constitution already limits voting to citizens, since it's already limited to citizens I don't see a need to change it, but read the wording yourself and the original wording to make your decision.
??? Every Vote Counts! ??? ? This November, Americans have a chance to shape the future of our communities and our country. Whether it’s your first time voting or you’ve been casting ballots for decades, your voice matters now more than ever. ? This election is especially meaningful for me: It’s the first in which my older son can vote and the first time my daughter has the opportunity to vote for a woman for President – a chance I’ve only had once before. ? Read my latest blog post where I share why voting is more than a right – it’s a responsibility we all share to protect democracy. ???? ? #Vote2024 #EveryVoteCounts #Democracy #MotherOfInvention https://lnkd.in/ehF5iipR

Let’s have a candid conversation about politics—without focusing on who anyone voted for. The past two elections should serve as a wake-up call for both the Democratic and Republican parties. The message is clear: America is a democracy, and in a democracy, leadership must reflect the will of the people. So, what are we really asking for? Don’t dictate our votes. Don’t tell us what issues should matter most to us. Don’t insist we follow certain beliefs simply because of our race, gender, or background. We don’t want to feel compelled to despise our friends over political differences. We don’t want politics to be such a divisive force that it’s off-limits at family gatherings. Most Americans simply want the chance to work hard, support our families, and thrive. We want our taxes to enhance our quality of life and support our communities and neighbors who share our values. We want safe, healthy futures for our children. What’s next? In 2020, a far-right campaign led by Trump fell short. This year, a far-left campaign by Kamala did the same. The takeaway is simple: Stop dividing us. At our core, most of us just want to reconnect with the sense of unity and mutual respect we once felt.
