??OPEN TO WORK?? Not me, but there are many, they just don’t have the green banner. They’re looking quietly for a number of reasons, so they whisper it to a handful of people. I have one question I ask every person that tells me they’re quietly looking. What’s your perfect job look like? When you need to rely on a whisper network, saying I’m looking for a marketing director role at a B2B company isn’t as helpful as painting me a picture. ??Here’s the picture I was painted today. I love the work I am doing now (marketing director). I love having a team and developing people, I love planning and strategy, and I also really love the creative aspects of my role. I feel most energized when I look at super creative, out of the box marketing activities. ?? I’ve worked informally with this person and they are amazing. Onto the next adventure! ?? ??♂? My time at Blackbullion has come to a close, with the senior leadership team deciding to pursue a different business direction, resulting in the release of the majority of the marketing team. ?? I’m still a strong believer in Blackbullion’s mission, as it provides immense value to struggling students, and it’s a real shame that some of our strategies and tactics will remain unimplemented. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Blackbullion. ?? I made great friends and worked alongside incredibly smart and driven people. We conducted insightful diagnosis work across the entire funnel, which led to the development of proper marketing strategies, yielding some very satisfying results across multiple campaigns. ?? Alongside this, I even completed my second Marketing Week Mini MBA with Mark Ritson in Brand Management, earning an A in the dreaded (but valuable) simulator. I even managed to meet Mark himself at a Mailchimp event. So all in all, it was a good stint despite the disappointing end! ?? So, what’s next? ?? I’m looking for a new role and would really appreciate your support. ?? You will also see me supporting the other marketers who were released, so please extend your support to them as well, as the job market is tough at the moment. ?? Well, folks, Unfortunately, I didn’t win the billion-dollar Mega Millions jackpot last week, but fortunately for you #recruiters, I’m still on the job market! ?? Over the past month, I’ve taken some time to reflect on where I want to go in my #marketing career. I’ve honed in on joining either a #campaigns team or a #field marketing team. On a campaigns team, I’d have the opportunity to work with creative individuals and collaborate with cross-functional teams. I enjoy strategizing and problem-solving, particularly when it comes to creating campaigns that drive awareness of how a product solves customer challenges. I find learning about customer behaviors and pain points—and crafting solutions to address them—fascinating. Being part of a team with a common goal to scale the business and seeing campaigns make an impact is incredibly rewarding, and I want to contribute to that success. In field marketing, the opportunity to work closely with sales teams and customers is both insightful and fulfilling. There’s nothing like contributing to an event and seeing it come to life. Being onsite and part of the “boots on the ground” team is energizing, and I thrive in that kind of environment. Field marketing also offers the chance to engage with diverse people, collaborate on campaigns, and use data to continually improve strategies, all of which I deeply enjoy. The challenge is that these are new areas of marketing I’m looking to break into. With over five years of experience in marketing, I bring many transferable skills, but I know I’m competing with professionals who already have 2+ years of specialized experience in these fields. Breaking through is difficult, but I have grit, determination, and a willingness to learn.
