Huge thanks to everyone who joined our national CEO network on equality, diversity and inclusion this morning.
It was fantastic to hear from Mike Kirk, Karl George and Kai Jackson.
Mike Kirk, Chair of The Hyde Group, reflected on the NHF’s Chairs’ Challenge. Mike had many insightful reflections, here are a couple of nuggets of his wisdom:
??? “Diversity and inclusion is an organisational essential, not a nice to have. It is about people and it is absolutely central to our social purpose.”
???“An inclusive culture is an essential investment that is both morally right and makes good business sense – there is no dichotomy.”
The Chairs’ Challenge is a public commitment to take your board on a journey to understand how diverse and inclusive you are now, and then develop a vision for the future. To find out more and sign up please see ?? https://lnkd.in/eU6p32D2
Karl George provided a helpful update on the RACE Equality Code. It was useful to understand the process for using the RACE framework - the RACE acronym stands for:
(R) -?Reporting
(A) -?Accountability
(C) - Composition
(E) - Education

Last but not least we heard from Kai Jackson, Tpas England Associate and involved tenant, about her research project ‘Diverse Voices: Transforming Tenant Influence in Social Housing’. The research sounds timely and it will provide valuable insights for the new consumer regulation.
