Queensland Police to Upgrade Protective Vests for Female Officers The Queensland Police Commissioner has announced that petite female officers, who had been working without proper protective vests, will soon receive upgraded body armor within the next few months. This decision follows growing concerns about the vulnerability of smaller officers who had been using outdated vests that did not provide adequate protection against modern threats like firearms and knives. The rollout of the $20 million integrated load-bearing vests (ILBV) was delayed due to size issues, but the Queensland police force is working with the manufacturer to resolve these problems. Public safety minister Dan Purdie emphasized that the safety of officers […] The Queensland Police Commissioner has announced that petite female officers, who had been working without proper protective vests, will soon receive upgraded body armor within the next few months. Did you know that NPI partners with ATF and the Bureau of Justice Assistance to offer Crime Gun Intelligence Centers (CGIC)? CGIC is a national initiative that supports local multidisciplinary teams in preventing violent crimes involving guns. It's a collaborative effort between local, state, and federal agencies to improve the quality of investigations by making ballistic evidence more actionable and lead-generating. Ultimately, CGIGs help identify prolific offenders and work with local and federal stakeholders to arrest and prosecute them—removing them from the community they harmed. Enhancing investigations to make communities safer is an important goal of NPI's. Learn more about CGIC and other projects NPI is working on: https://hubs.li/Q02K0Jc-0

The recent case of Gokhan Gun, who became a U.S. citizen in 2021 and gained access to top-secret information despite being originally from Turkey, is deeply troubling. This is not just an isolated incident—it's part of a disturbing trend under the Biden-Harris administration. Consider the catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan, which left billions of dollars in military equipment in enemy hands. Or the open borders that have allowed over 15 million illegal immigrants to cross, including at least 169 individuals on the terrorist watch list. Even more alarming is the Chinese spy balloon incident earlier this year, where our airspace was blatantly violated. FBI Director Christopher Wray has sounded the alarm, warning Congress multiple times that a terror attack on U.S. soil is imminent. Yet, these warnings seem to go unheeded. Our national security is at stake, and it’s time for senior government officials and military leaders to take immediate action. The American people deserve leadership that prioritizes their safety above all else. We must address these issues now before it's too late. #NationalSecurity #Leadership #Government #Military #Policy #ProtectAmerica

'A Defense Department contractor was arrested on Friday with dozens of highly classified documents he had obtained using his security clearance, as he prepared to depart for a trip to Mexico, according to prosecutors. The contractor, Gokhan Gun, an electrical engineer born in Turkey who now lives in a Virginia suburb of Washington, printed thousands of documents at his work for the Air Force. Many were unclassified, but some were “batches of documents from the top secret network,” according to an 11-page complaint unsealed in a Virginia federal court. Mr. Gun is charged with illegally obtaining and retaining national defense secrets. The case is one of several instances in recent years in which soldiers and civilians working for the military improperly retained military secrets. In March, a young Massachusetts Air National Guardsman, Jack Teixeira, accused of posting secret intelligence reports online, pleaded guilty in exchange for a 16-year sentence and an agreement to document his activities to the authorities. Investigators are still trying to determine why Mr. Gun, who became an American citizen in 2021, hoarded so many documents. He nonchalantly carried them out of his office in rolled-up wads in plastic shopping bags, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the case.' https://lnkd.in/gZ4dZHfb

The DOJ is cracking down on DATA privacy and piracy. But is the bigger issue its eagerness to hire recent citizens or is that an indication of APATHY and COMPLICITY at work unable to fill the jobs to train EXISTING US citizens? ??IDEA : a HUB SPOKE MODEL of workforce distribution to a Social Capitalist Plan (SCP) Secure Contain & Protect as well as vet CUI (Controlled Unclassified Data) vs SCI (Secret Data) limiting each location to minimal exposure. Q: Would a distributed network #OFFICEHOMES secure contained workforce housing provide better distribution of work to MAIN STREETS in 3200 US counties or in foreign nations on or near 160+ US diplomatic posts? With smaller numbers of distributed facilities, each one more accessible in local communities, but more numerous like the spokes on a HUB that connects back to the DOD, would data security, software development, federal contract projects, government services or CUI (Controlled Unclassified Data) be safer at rest and in transit?

One of the best security services in the world. Impossible
Rob Hamman is a seasoned security professional and small business owner with international experience in the hospitality and tourism sectors. He excels at mentoring, assessing, and facilitating business operations.
A few millimeters could have changed the course of history. The security team totally failed to secure this high ground. Also, there was likely a lack of quick reporting between police officers who had been alerted of a possible shooter in the area and the main protection detail. The big question: How did the shooter get so lucky to choose and get onto the one roof that was not guarded? Why did the SS not remove the client from the stage when the first reports of a shooter came through the air?

?? Today, June 7, is ?????? ???????????????? ?????????????????? ??????. ?? Gun violence impacts all segments of the community we serve, and its effects reverberate throughout all of society. In 2023, our Police Department's flagship Threat Assessment Management Unit recovered 1,192 firearms, including 223 firearms seized under Virginia’s Emergency Substantial Risk Order law, commonly known as a Red Flag law. Prevent gun violence by learning about the Red Flag law, properly disposing of unwanted firearms and knowing the signs and symptoms of mental or emotional crisis. https://lnkd.in/ePpw7zQJ Join #TeamFairfax and let's stand together, raise awareness, and work towards effective prevention strategies to make our communities safer. https://lnkd.in/eZri7p6 #FairfaxCountyGovernment #EngageGrowInspire #ComeMakeADifference

Notwithstanding the outstanding work you have done in the US (Katherine Schweit, J.D., CCEP) - the Second Amendment as well as our countries vastly different approach to firearms and firearm control - could the United States enhance its response to active shooter incidents by adopting a more integrated multi-agency approach, similar to the UK model?
...an interesting read Katherine Schweit, J.D., CCEP, especially (as we have mentioned previously) the high profile mega events the US is staging over the next 10 years and the impact shooter incidents may have on public perception around safety. In the UK, the response to an active shooter situation differs from the US primarily through a more centralised, multi-agency approach in crisis management and firearms control. UK police forces are routinely unarmed, which means armed responses are meticulously managed and involve highly specialised units such as the Metropolitan Police’s SCO19. Fire has Special Entry Recovery Teams (SERT). The Ambulance Service has Hazardous Area Response & Special Operational Response Teams (HART & SORT). These units totally interoperate & undergo rigorous and continuous training including with the UK Special Forces, focusing heavily on de-escalation, minimum force, creating safer & contained environment in which to operate and allowing access to casualties. The UK also emphasises extensive prevention strategies, including robust gun control laws and active community engagement programs, which significantly reduce the likelihood and frequency of such incidents compared to the US. That said, scale is everything here. Im not sure there are any/many comparisons to be made at all between the 2 countries. Close allies for sure - but culturally light years apart....
