CASE-SALONE is a National non Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to advancing the Rights of women and children, especially adolescent girls. Established in 2016, the organization has been effectively working to increase the retention of adolescent girls in School by promoting comprehensive sexuality education; SRHR, gender justice through our weekly teen-talk programme. This effort has helped in advancing the rights of adolescents, reducing teenage pregnancy, early and forced marriage and dropout amongst girls. Through this the adolescents have also gained bodily autonomy, challenging socio-cultural norms that serve as barriers to their growth. CASE-SALONE has also introduced a livelihood initiative that seeks to enhance the economic independence of women in order to invest in their children's education, especially adolescent girls. JOB TITLE: Life skills Assistant KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Support the life skills Officer in facilitating Life Skills activities. 2. Participate in facilitating weekly teen talk. 3. Attend relevant network meetings. 4. Work with school to advance comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE). 5. Closely work with partner organizations to participate in joint events. 6. Conduct regular visits to communities and homes of beneficiaries. 7. Coordinate with adolescent beneficiaries to participate in in-person and virtual engagement/meetings. 8. Serve as direct contact for the adolescents beneficiaries . 9. Support the Life Skills Officer in developing and adhering to safeguarding mechanisms and practices. 10. Support the Life Skills Officer to strengthen weekly teen-talk in the communities. 11. Closely work with the Communication Officer to develop compelling adolescent-friendly skits to influence behavioral change. 12. Work with young people to promote youth climate actions in school, communities and online. 13. Perform any other duty relevant to the role. KEY SKILLS: 1. Strong communication skills (oral and written). 3. Skit writing and directing. 4. Story telling. QUALIFICATION: (a) Diploma, or degree in Social Sciences or education: Social Work, Gender, Sociology BED or related field from recognized institutions. (a) At least one year experience in related role. Desirability: * We strongly desire a young activist who is social media friendly and enjoys engaging in professional dialogues that influence change. * The person must be able to work without direct influence. * Must have strong interest for personal growth at workplace. This looks very interesting. Climate crises are intensifying, and with them comes a surge in human trafficking. During a recent Stop Trafficking Worldwide CIC event, we emphasised that environmental disasters such as the 2011 Horn of Africa famine, island nations facing rising sea levels, the 2010 Haiti earthquake, Typhoon Haiyan in 2013, the 2022 Pakistan floods, the 2019–2020 Australian bushfires, and the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and so on create ideal conditions for traffickers. When communities are displaced and infrastructure crumbles, traffickers exploit the chaos, targeting those in desperate need. As a result, this severe human rights violation, already affecting millions, becomes even more devastating in times of crisis. Would be great to see the output. Keep up the good work.
