I have to share this post for two reasons. One is that I am a proud trustee for Humanimal Trust and really believe in One Medicine for humans and animals (watch the video - Noel explains it better). The second is that I know how many will appreciate how ridiculously cute Noel’s cat, Richochet, is! #onemedicine #humanimaltrust
Happy 10th Birthday Humanimal Trust!! Today, 6th May, we are celebrating our 10th birthday, the day our charity was founded by Professor Noel Fitzpatrick back in 2014. This day is now known as One Medicine Day. We want to thank each and every one of you for your support and dedication for the charity. You are all amazing!?Without you we simply would not be here. ?Thank you from everyone here at Humanimal Trust.?

???? A good news update ???? Remember our gingerbread houses….??!! There is something I’m really good at ?? IDEAS ?? This was my idea, stood looking at them All on the table and pondering what to do with them all, it just popped out of my mouth Mat Burke made it happen I have been asked many times in varying situations including interviews ‘what are you really good at?’ I’m really good at ideas But it always feels like that’s a really lame answer, even though it’s the truth I have ADHD (diagnosed at 43) My brain works at 100 miles an hour It is full of ideas Over the years I have become more confident to share them, at the risk of sometimes not being taken seriously There isn’t always room for creativity on a team. There is room for people who follow processes, who can write plans and put things neatly in boxes, but not always people who take the lid off the box and let a whole load of crazy escape I am that girl The lid will come off In less than 5 minutes this went from an idea to a plan - that’s what I do There was some effort and logistical challenge moving them carefully to their destination, and there was Ofcourse the willingness of the team at the hospice to take delivery of a gingerbread world But our delivery team in store rose to the challenge and packed them carefully, and the hospice embraced the random phone call from me connecting them with the store via a contact I had made only a few weeks earlier (Caroline Peach)when I served their head of retail on my till; as any good fundraiser can do in less than 5 minutes I got a background story and connected on Linked in, the rest is history ?? Share the idea Take the lid off the box Ask the questions Embrace your curiosity You NEVER know where it will take you Or when it will help to transport a gingerbread village ?? #fundraising #networks #connection #engagement #curiosity #logistics #community #tesco #communication #redundancy #neurodiversity #adhd #neurodiversityatwork
A big thank you to Tesco Wragby Road for generously donating their gingerbread houses to our Inpatient Unit ?? They had a competition to decorate gingerbread houses which were then donated to our Nettleham Road Inpatient Unit on Christmas Eve. Thank you for your kindness this Christmas!

Corporate organizations are in a position to dynamically impact their communities. Huge thank you to Lancaster County Motors, Inc. for their incredible support of Meals on Wheels of Lancaster and our community as a whole! While you might think that donating funds is the most important part of that impact, there are actually multiple ways corporate organizations truly transform the communities they are in. Here are a few examples: 1. Allow employees to volunteer. Some organizations actually pay employees to volunteer at least 8 hours a year. Others let employees take time off to support volunteering efforts. Some go so far as to coordinate the event and encourage all employees to participate. Find a way that works best for your organization. 2. Bring exposure to community partners. Social media posts and other marketing efforts harness your brand to support community impact. 3. Host community partners at your facility. If you have space, non-profits are often needing locations to host fundraising events and hold meetings. Your space can do good too! What ways are you using to impact your community? #corporateresponsibility #volunteering
Lancaster County Motors Subaru is proud to announce that during the 2023 Subaru Share the Love? Event in November and December 2023, Lancaster County Motors Subaru and our Clients donated $56,000 to two local charities! Our 2023 partners were Meals on Wheels of Lancaster and A WEEK AWAY FOUNDATION. Yesterday, LCM Subaru General Manager Jonathan F. presented each charity with a check for $28,000. Thank you to both charities for all that you do for the community!

Did you know that one third of the world’s population does not have access to adequate sanitation? Or that 783 million people live without safe drinking water? For the last two decades, Engineers Without Borders Australia has been dedicated to developing skills, knowledge and engineering solutions to help create more equitable living standards for people across the globe. It is an absolute privilege to be able to support such a worthwhile organization and support its endeavors to develop engineering solutions for cheap, clean energy, and technology to help millions of people living with disabilities in some of the poorest areas of the world who would otherwise be excluded from the economic and social life of their communities. If you want to find out more about Engineers Without Borders Australia and join us in supporting them, head to their website: https://ewb.org.au/ acmena.com.au Acmena Group Pty Ltd Engineers Without Borders Australia #environmentalengineering #sustainabledevelopment #renewableenergy #energypoverty #corporatesocialresponsibility?#engineersaustralia https://lnkd.in/gPmUpR7j
Every year, Acmena Group Pty Ltd donates a percentage of their annual profits to local and overseas charities. The best part? Their staff choose where the donations go! When the team at Acmena got in touch to let us know that several staff had nominated EWB to receive a donation, we were absolutely delighted. Acmena’s generous donation will fund much-needed engineering solutions overseas in Cambodia, Timor-Leste and Vanuatu as well as here in Australia with First Nations communities. A huge thank you to Acmena for their generous donation and to their staff for nominating us!

When I joined Grace & Green in 2022 as Head of Growth, my very first presentation to the Board was about how we took what had been created in Period Dignity and use this to have a much wider impact on both the business and the world of work. How would we make Period Dignity the market leader (with very little money to spend to do so)? I don't have enough space in this post to work through exactly what I set out in that meeting, however it boiled down to: ? Understanding the impact we want to have: It's always been about more than supplying products - Education is woven into the threads of Period Dignity. To achieve period dignity we need access to information, availability of products and acceptance within workplace culture - we designed our offering and continue to develop everything we do around these pillars. This was summed up perfectly by a client (John) who said "Grace & Green don't just supply a product, they create a CULTURE". Exactly John. ? Remember who we are and why we are doing it: Unsurprisingly, the workplace space has and is becoming more competitive. This is excellent news, as more businesses embrace free period care as a basic right, and especially comforting how many are choosing a more sustainable providers. As now Chief Commercial Officer, it's also mildly stressful (mildly ?? ). However, dignity continues to be about more than avoiding getting caught short, it's about embracing inclusivity and supporting our Members to deliver dignity for all, no matter of age, gender identity, or how they experience their period. There's still a long way to go, and we've got SO much more coming here... ? Treat every customer like they are absolutely making our day. This is perhaps a small business mindset, or when many of the team have done almost every job in the company. We all remember the THRILL of winning our first big contract, the DELIGHT of walking into a shop and seeing our products on shelf, or randomly walking into the bathroom BEAMING seeing our products. We don't take for granted the fact we get to be in people's everyday. (For me this has never worn off, my heart still skips a little when I process an order, receive a tender award notice, or see a customer talking about us on socials.) Particularly grateful for our team for supporting our phenomenal YOY 120% growth, for challenging, pushing our vision and positioning, and for being excellent. I'm incredibly proud of what we and our members are doing to drive inclusivity, awareness and dignity within their workplaces and educational establishments. I can't wait to see what the next two years can hold. Happy Birthday Period Dignity. x
Two years of Period Dignity ?? It's?#WorldMenstrualHygieneDay?and we're celebrating two years of making periods dignified and accessible for everyone. ? Since launching, our Period Dignity scheme has helped over 400 businesses, schools and public institutions provide sustainable period products to those who need them most.? ? Together we've:? ? Supplied 9 million free-to-access sustainable period products ? Delivered 9,800+ free period packs to those who need them in partnership with local councils ? Stocked 60+ universities and schools with Grace & Green products ? Donated £97,000 worth of period products to charitable organisations, including local food banks, in 2023 alone. ? Thank you to our community and incredible partners and supporters for making helping us make a difference. Check out our visits to New Cut Coffee, BIMM University, OVO, Watershed, and Wiper and True. Thank you Honeywell Bakes for our beautiful birthday biscuits.

Hi Friends! We're collecting beverage pop tops for the Ronald McDonald House! We'd love your help in raising funds for this amazing charitable organization. Where do I take my tabs? Saving pop tabs is easy. Simply remove the tab off your cans, save them up and drop them by our office at 2420 Iowa St. Can't get out? - send us a message and I'll come by and collect them :) Why pop tabs and not the entire can? Because pop tabs are smaller and easier to store. The tabs are also paint free and pure aluminum, which increases their value and profit when recycled. So, pull your tabs for Ronald McDonald House, but be sure to recycle the cans. Here are some fun facts about tabs: ? One pound of tabs is about 1,500 tabs. ? Each tab measures about 1 inch, so there are 12 tabs in one foot. ? It would take 63,360 tabs, placed end to end, to reach a mile. ? One million tabs end to end would stretch 15.78 miles. Thank you so much - this small act can help many - we appreciate you - let's make a difference ??

OpenAI published a post about evaluating their corporate structure to better support their mission of ensuring AGI benefits humanity - OpenAI's Board is planning to transform their for-profit into a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) to enable raising more capital, strengthen the non-profit, and advance their mission - The Board states they need more capital than possible through donations, as major companies are now investing hundreds of billions in AI development, making conventional equity terms necessary - The plan will convert the non-profit's current interest in the for-profit into PBC shares at fair value, which they say will multiply their donors' resources - The PBC will manage OpenAI's operations while the non-profit will pursue charitable work in healthcare, education, and science with what they describe as "one of the best resourced non-profits in history" https://lnkd.in/dRMru2XV
