A perfect example of this are the PINS that Disney sells within their parks. . Disney sells 10s of thousands of collectible pins that can be bought and traded and some hold significant value. . However, the backs that HOLD these pins in place are notoriously cheap - they’re going to break. . So what does Disney do? . I recently saw Deadpool & Wolverine, and, as expected, Deadpool was up to his usual cheeky antics, even throwing in some clever jabs about IP rights. It got me thinking about how much Disney's acquisition of Fox has really stirred the pot in the media world. Throughout the movie, it was hard not to notice the flood of IP references. It seems like we're in a time where films are more about showing off the characters and franchises they own than they are about telling a story. But honestly, that’s part of the entertainment industry nowadays, right? What’s really interesting is how this all plays out from a business and legal perspective. With Disney now holding the keys to so many unique characters, this movie became a fascinating showcase of its IP assets. It’s like the film is both a story and a behind-the-scenes peek at corporate strategy. But don’t get me wrong—I still had a blast watching it. The movie was packed with laughs, action, and lots of subtle references. Sure, it’s a bit of a corporate parade, but it’s an entertaining one.
