When it comes to cancer care and research, we are on the precipice of incredible discovery and critical advancement of human health. With more than 75,000 patients served annually, 700 therapeutic clinical trials per year and 600 WashU Medicine physicians and scientists at the helm, WashU Medicine, in collaboration with Siteman Cancer Center and Barnes-Jewish hospital, is a national leader in cancer care. I hope you’ll take some time to read our latest issue of Outlook Magazine, where we dive deep into the incredible work, people and stories of cancer happening here at WashU Medicine.?https://outlook.washu.edu
My parents were both treated for cancer here. I always said if I got cancer this is where I'd come after seeing the wonderful care my parents received. In 2014, I was interviewing a gyn oncologist when I mentioned symptoms I was having. I'll always remember he said to schedule an appointment with him now. He was my doctor until he retired. I trust the care I've received here and all my doctors are located here. After ten years of being cancer free, I recently learned I have kidney cancer and guess where I'll be coming for my care.
So proud of the amazing work our scientists, clinicians, and team members do every day.
Dr. Perlmutter and his team helped extend my father's life as well as the quality of his life as Dad dealt with Parkinson's Disease. My family will always be grateful for the care and research of the Perlmutter team!
