So why did you go with chess as opposed to some other game? Great question and and all offer to listeners. Hey, maybe another game is more suitable for your needs or the resources available. But This is why I chose chess. So a few reasons came to mind. I needed first of all, a game that required a tough choice and something that simulated well. You could consider an analogy to a tactical situation and something that I was confident would be relatively well known across the squadron. So first, chess seemed like a good simulator of a tactical situation, right? Your pieces are friendly. Courses the opponents pieces are enemy forces and this tactical situation as it developed on the board was complex enough to put a notable cognitive load on the players with each turn right. So the rules for each piece is movement could be roughly compared to something like combined arms. So I could see hey ponds or infantry Knights or air assault rooks, bishops and Queens or different forms of artillery or precision strike.
