?? Measuring Impact... Outputs & Outcomes. I have found the area of measuring the impact of #partnerships an interesting one! The statistics for the number of hours spent in weekly partnerships sessions at Haberdashers' Elstree Schools and at the Partnerships schools this year are amazing! The scale of the outcomes that are hard to measure are the ones that makes this aspect of school life such an important part of a holistic education for a Haberdashers' Elstree Schools student. It is a truly mutually beneficial relationship between the students at Habs and the Partnerships school students. That is why it is not seen as Outreach but a true Partnership with the #community. I am looking forward to understanding in greater detail how the impact of partnerships can be measured with colleagues in partnerships programmes ??

When I first started in my role as Play Advisor at my local council, one of the first comments that's stuck with me, from one of the leading play advocates we have here in Aotearoa, "A safe city, a welcoming city, an eco-friendly city, a family friendly city... is also a playful city and its all connected. One of the key indicators we can use to measure this is how many school kids you see out of vehicles on their way to or from school each day." That was prehaps one of the many 'aha' moments I've had since starting this role and my realization of how interconnected a play friendly city is to the many other strategic outcomes we prioritize at local council. Although direct investment in playgrounds is a key component to the equation, the freedom for kids and families to roam, to move about our cities without fear (be it stranger danger, traffic, etc) and to 'play on the way' (sometimes the best play is just being out and about exploring the world around us as we're moving from point A to B) these are the implicit and even more crucial indicators we can use to measure how play friendly our city really is. Here in Palmy I've seen how this links to things like a council's active transport strategy, roading and footpath networks, our city's vegetation framework, the district plan in terms of housing development plans, and on and on it goes. It's why we ultimately advocate for play to be understood and considered across all layers of planning in council. Anyway, here's my own kid who scooters with her older sisters to and from school most days. I can often hear them from down the road chatting, laughing, stopping for a quick walk along the neighbour's brick fence, picking the flowers from another (??) and always looking for the next best tree branch to swing from. I love that the local kindy they use to attend 'keeps an eye out for them every morning and afternoon' along with the multiple parents who live on the street. Sometimes it feels scary to let them do stuff like this but we're doing it. #urbancity #playfulcity #playmatters ##urbandesign #activetransport #play

At SureCall Contact Centers, we pride ourselves on giving back to our community. Recently, our team assisted Hull Services by painting picnic tables, removing old paint, and trimming bushes. We learned that annual painting is necessary due to wear from children and sun exposure, and that the maintenance team is busy with multiple properties, often relying on volunteers. The experience was rewarding, especially learning about support programs for individuals away from home. Our efforts made a positive impact on these individuals' summer, and we encourage more volunteers to participate in community service initiatives. #ExecutiveLeadership #CEOInsights #CLevelLeadership #CorporateInnovation #CXOLeaders #BusinessPerformance #StrategicPartnerships #NYCExecutiveLeadership #LosAngelesBusinessSolutions #ChicagoCorporateStrategy #CaliforniaBusinessLeaders #DallasExecutiveDecisions #AtlantaEnterpriseSolutions #SeattleBusinessInnovation #LondonExecutiveLeadership #ManchesterBusinessSolutions #BirminghamCorporateStrategy #GlasgowBusinessOperations #LiverpoolLeadershipInsights #CorporateCultureExcellence #CanadianWorkplacePride #CultureOfInnovation

The first Wake Up the Earth Festival took place in 1979 on land that had been cleared for the Highway (I-95) during the late sixties but which fortunately was stopped by a strong grassroots movement embodied in the South-West Corridor Coalition. And like much activism for the public good, once the highway was defeated and the orange line was built, there was a lot of outside interest on this neighborhood. At that time, City Life Vida Urbana created “Latinos Comprendan Casas” which was a program supporting Latinos to become homeowners in the neighborhood. It’s also why we organized homeowners who were facing foreclosure in the Great Recession. Today, over 20% of home sales in Greater Boston, are to corporations and not to people. The consolidation of ownership, the software which enables corporate investors to maximize their profit through collusion (like realpage), and the equity funds and REITs which are flooding the market with easy capital in exchange for maximum returns, are the highways of financialization that threaten our neighborhoods today. And much like the past, the only way to stop these highways is through community activism and coalition building.
