?? How to Write Effective Job Descriptions in the Veterinary Sector A compelling job description plays a vital role in attracting the right candidates. It's your chance to set accurate expectations and showcase your workplace culture. ?? When crafting a job description, clarity is key. Start with a clear job title and a brief overview. Professional Growth and Development through Full-Time Work at Chemist Warehouse I'm excited to share how my experience as a full-time Store-man at Chemist Warehouse, in 2022, significantly contributed to my professional and personal development. Straight out of high school and into my gap year, the transition from casual to full-time work marked a significant milestone for me. It taught me the importance of having a consistent schedule and the discipline that comes with it. This experience built my independence and gave me a deeper understanding of the demands and rewards of full-time employment. During my tenure, I handled various responsibilities such as receiving deliveries, cross-referencing invoices to ensure accuracy, pushing out stock, packaging items for dispatch, maintaining stock levels, and stacking shelves. Whilst working on the tills and engaging in point-of-sale merchandising provided me with valuable insights into retail operations and customer service. One of the most insightful aspects of my role was gaining knowledge about health products and healing processes. Through required learning modules for staff, I learned about different types of burns and the appropriate treatments. This enabled me to assist customers more effectively with their health-related concerns. This not only enhanced my product and health knowledge but also improved my ability to connect with and support customers in meaningful ways. Moreover, this experience honed several key skills: 1. Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in inventory management and invoicing. 2. Time Management: Balancing multiple tasks efficiently to maintain smooth operations. 3. Team Collaboration: Working closely with colleagues to achieve common goals. 4. Customer Service: Providing assistance and advice to customers, enhancing their shopping experience. 5. Independence: Developing the ability to manage responsibilities and work autonomously. My time at Chemist Warehouse was instrumental in shaping my professional journey. It equipped me with practical skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage responsibilities effectively. I look forward to leveraging these experiences as I continue to pursue my career in marketing and beyond. Nothing says summer in the US like hot dogs and ice cream. That’s why July is both National Hot Dog Month and National Ice Cream Month. “Steve, hot dogs and ice cream are for children.” Are they though? I did some exhaustive research on this topic (meaning, I googled it) and found that most Americans, including adults, eat between 60 and 70 hot dogs a year. And while ice cream cones might remind you of childhood, those over 55 eat more ice cream cones a year than children do. Life is short. Treat your staff to lunch one day this month and see for yourself. Just don’t forget the gluten-free hot dog buns, tofu dogs, and dairy-free ice cream alternatives. As someone who’s been in recruitment for 25+ years, I know the value of small gestures in boosting team morale. The Swan Group is not just a recruitment agency; we're career nurturers and relationship builders, connecting exceptional talent with fulfilling opportunities, prioritizing joy, and client-candidate satisfaction. ?????? ?? ???????? ???? ?????????? ?????? ???? ?? ???????? ??????????????????—???????????????? ?????? ???????????? ?????????? ????????! My goodness, let me tell you about the time I missed out on a great job opportunity just because I didn’t check my email regularly. I had applied for a Laboratory Analyst role at a food processing company, and I was so hopeful. Days turned into weeks, and with no response, I assumed it wasn’t going to work out. After all, we’re so used to seeing emails like: “Thank you for applying, but we regret to inform you…” So, I got comfortable ignoring my inbox. I mean, why keep checking when you’re already bracing for rejection? But one random day, while I was cleaning up my inbox, guess what I found? The email inviting me to the next stage of the recruitment process! It had been sitting there for over a week! I literally shouted when I saw it. By then, it was already too late to respond. I didn’t even bother replying because I felt it would make me look unserious. After that incident, I made a vow to never let this happen again. Now, I check my inbox daily. I sort, star, archive, and filter emails like my career depends on it (because it really does). If you’re job hunting or working in a role where communication is key, take this as a sign to organize your email. That one email could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. Faith Akomolafe (AISLT) Thanks for the read. kindly like, repost and share your thoughts in the comments. #JobSearch #EmailManagement #CareerTips #foodbiotechnologist #foodscientist

Sorry Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) Defrauding the U.S. seafood industry and driving ten-figure losses will not be rectified by hiring a low-level flunky to enforce your unlawful standards and belligerent misconduct. Let me be clearer: 1?? Fire Rupert and the troupe of out-of-control women—ambassadors and employees—who failed in their legally mandated duty to report and correct unlawful discrimination. Instead, they recruited a group of bad actors who continue leveraging undue influence on the U.S. marketplace. 2?? Sanitize your Board of Trustees. Remove Mikel Durham, who aided a white entrepreneur in his campaign to steal proprietary assets, stalk me and my family, and assault me in public. 3?? Remove Birgit Cameron, an incompetent troll who has been damaging demand for U.S. wild and aquaculture products since starting the hypocritical Patagonia Provisions brand. Her brand distributes Red Rated mackerel and misrepresents ICES recommendations. 4?? But actually it’s number 1?? BAN Russian certification of fisheries that openly mock sustainability, trash the ocean, fund wars, and trade in human slavery. 5?? Take accountability. Frankly, all this absurd nonsense makes Christopher Lischewski look like a saint. The standard should be banned, and several individuals should be in jail. Perhaps pause from having the Prince of Dubai or his staff threatening me and my elderly mother? Are you serious? Planning to perpetrate a hate crime on US soil? Get a grip. And focus on reforming your practices? ?? Nobody is scared. What more do you need to hear from Congress, the U.S. President, the G7, and a diverse coalition of responsible fisheries participants? #reform #accountability #banthestandard #banseafoodwatch #enough #poorpeoplescampaign #fulltilt #sustainableseaood #badactors #sdg8 #sdg12 #humanrights
We're hiring someone to join the Implementation team here at the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) as a Senior Standard Implementation Officer. You'll be working with me, Elise Quinn and Jay Lugar (a great team if I do say so myself) on policy development processes and working with a variety of stakeholders to ensure the Fisheries Standard delivers on our mission to end overfishing. This would suit someone early in their marine or fisheries career who can bring strong administration and organising skills and likes every day to be different. Happy to answer any questions!

SWOT(C) A zoo manager gave an ad inviting forest animals to come and live comfortably in the zoo. However, they have to apply and face an interview. Cheetah: I am the fastest and nobody can match my speed. Manager: You can at best have a brisk walk in the space allocated to you. Forget chasing. Food will be supplied to you by our boys. Cheetah: Then what's my job here? Manager: Do graceful cat walk before the visitors. Elephant: I can pull down the mighty trees. Manager: You can't do that. Felling trees is a crime here, good fodder will be sent to you. Elephant: What's my work here? Manager: Pickup the food from kids and other visitors with your trunk and enjoy. Occasionally, take a handshake. Lion: I am very ferocious. While my queens hunt for food, I protect our land from encroachment. Likewise, I can do it for you. Manager: Great. But, our place is well secured with strong walls. You can as usual lazily relax, and now & then give a roar to shake our guests. Instead of your queen our chef will send your meals. Tiger, Elephant, and Lion: So, our strengths are of no use here. Manager: Of course, yes. Still, you can do your new jobs well. Other animals learned that strengths and weaknesses are contextual to jobs. They decided to prepare the resumes matching them to the jobs offered. #SWOT #analysis #jobs Thanks, Srinivas M Reddy

????????# ?? Dear Job Seekers, Before you waste your time applying for a job, make sure you actually read the job title and job description. It's astonishing how many people apply for roles without bothering to understand what the job entails or if they even meet the basic qualifications. Skimming over these crucial details only reflects a lack of professionalism and respect for both your time and the employer’s. If you can’t be bothered to ensure you’re a good fit for the position, don’t expect to get far in the hiring process. Taking the time to thoroughly review these elements isn’t just a suggestion—it’s a basic expectation for any serious job seeker. For example, if I posted a job for an Office Assistant (Support Staff) and the job details specify that experience in the food or beverages industry is required, does it make sense for a Marketing Manager to apply?

Yes, job descriptions take time and effort. And yes, they can seem bureaucratic. But with more #CdnAg farms going multi-generational, and more farmers hiring employees, job descriptions ensure that the right people are doing the right jobs. They also decrease conflict in the workplace, resulting in better relationships between both family and non-family employees and managers. If job descriptions sound like a waste of time to you, check out this article by Helen Lammers-Helps to learn about their advantages and tips for crafting great job descriptions.
