Brava to the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture's first recipients of the Fellowship to Advance Equity in Architecture: Nathalie Frankowski and Cruz Garcia / WAI Architecture Think Tank. Their work references "racism, settler-colonialism, disability studies, ecological justice, and other topics germane to the pedagogies of the built, destroyed, and imagined environments that comprise architecture and related fields." I am excited to share my project, "The Germ," recently featured on KoozArch! Dive into our speculative exploration that envisions a radical shift in architectural practice through the lens of decolonization. ?? About The Germ "The Germ" challenges conventional architectural paradigms by reimagining how design can contribute to a more equitable and inclusive world. It seeks to break free from colonial legacies embedded in our built environment and reassert local knowledge and practices. ?? Join us on Monday, November 4 for Architecture and Activism: Axel Timm. The practice of our collective raumlaborberlin refers very much to Lefebvre′s quote “Space is a product of (social) interaction." Thus our approach to the city and towards architecture is not the built space or the building of space in particular but rather the conception, the perception – the inhabiting of it. Within our approach with a focus on public or semi public space - we work at the intersection of architecture, city planning, art and urban intervention. In our work we address the city and urban renewal as a process connected to preferably all users of those spaces. For more event information: https://myumi.ch/egqGn

With delay! Connecting occupants with the extreme climatic conditions in Arctic buildings poses challenges for architects, designers and providers. My recent article, featured on the cover of the Journal of Building Simulation, highlights the results of optimizing intermediate spaces to improve thermal, visual and energy efficiency in Arctic public housing, fostering a positive connection with the outdoor environment. This article is derived from my Ph.D. research which is supporthe by the Sentinelle Nord | Sentinel North project at Université Laval. https://lnkd.in/gpFxQpTx DOI: https://lnkd.in/gAd_A38V
