Regulations and type approvals in #UAM and #AAM such as the #EASA Certified Specification CS23 and CS25 must be taken into account as early as possible! The "Certified Specifications" CS23 and CS25 of the EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency are essential regulations for the certification and construction of aircraft. While one (CS23) applies to smaller light #aircraft, typically those with a maximum take-off weight of less than 19,000 lbs, the other (CS25) applies to larger, commercially used aircraft, including passenger jets. What they both have in common: They define safety standards and set non-negotiable requirements for the construction, performance, design, maintenance, operation and environmental compatibility of flying objects. *** Continuing Airworthiness Vs. Continued Airworthiness *** In the aviation industry, we often use the terms “Continuing airworthiness” and “Continued airworthiness” interchangeably, but they have distinct meanings. As per #ICAO Annex-08, “Continuing airworthiness is the set of processes by which an aircraft, engine, propeller or part complies with the applicable airworthiness requirements and remains in a condition for safe operation throughout its operating life”. This means that two aircraft of the same type and variant, like an #Airbus A330 (e.g. MSN # 123) and another A330 (e.g. MSN # 456), can have different Continuing airworthiness statuses. So, the aircraft operator / owner has to ensure the Continuing Airworthiness of each aircraft before flight. On the other hand, “Continued airworthiness” pertains to the upkeep of a “Type Design” and its associated approved data throughout its life. It's also referred to as "Type Airworthiness" or "Continuing Airworthiness of Type Design" (as per EASA). A common example is the issuance of Airworthiness Directives (ADs) for a specific aircraft type, like the Airbus #A330 series. Did you know that the #Aircraft Statement of Conformity (#EASA Form 52) plays a crucial role in obtaining an “individual aircraft #Certificate of Airworthiness (C of A)” and “#Noise Certificate”? In EASA environment, whenever an aircraft is rolled out of production, it is accompanied by “Statement of Conformity-EASA FORM 52”. The “Statement of Conformity” is issued under EASA Part-21, Section-A Subpart-G which enables the Production Organisations (approved under Part-21 Subpart-G) to exercise their privilege to obtain individual aircraft C of A and Noise Certificate from the Competent Authority of the Member State of Registry (#SoR). ? Feature highlight: Modifications to aircraft configuration play an import part in the airworthiness maintenance. Operators must ensure all additional technical documents and repetitive inspections are performed to ensure compliance. In our Aircraft Module, the STC Modifications page allows users to monitor their list of embodied changes. A list with all relevant data is supported including a status report generator. Each modification can also hold a number of uploaded documents which are important to have easily on hand like the supplements to AFM or IPC for example. STC design and engineering organisations also provide repetitive inspection tasks to ensure proper maintenance. The so called ICA tasks can be added to the AMP as custom items and then associated with the STC. A special status report for the ICA tasks can be easily generated.
