Introducing 'Don't Stop, Go Slow' a five-part life series for women in the workforce. Through this series, we want to cover topics that women consider, contemplate, and experience but do not widely discuss. We often see women dropping off the career pyramid for various reasons, with starting a family being one of the topmost ones. This journey is a complex one in itself, with every woman facing her unique battle - child versus career dilemma, fertility treatments, adoption processes, surrogacy, postpartum depression, breastfeeding, etc. And then,?the uphill climb of restarting their careers. Most people nod in agreement when I say that biological incompatibilities push people towards donor-assisted pregnancy. But they jump too quickly to the conclusion that it's only about "the wrong parts". There are in fact multiple causes of impaired fecundity (which specifically refers to not being able to carry a pregnancy to term successfully) that are biological in nature but have nothing to do with gender or sex. These include uterine anomalies, previous-pregnancy uterus ruptures (sometimes complete removal), spinal issues, or being on a course of pregnancy-incompatible meds that can't be disrupted. While rare, these can affect anyone - normal people like you and I. (And given the accessibility of the internet, many in this boat will look up 3rd party reproduction or surrogacy - and try to identify where it is legalized, ethically practiced, *better* regulated, and transparently priced. They won't be able to find anything that checks all those boxes. We're building Crucible to help change that.)

Today, we’re proud to announce our first peer-reviewed publication in Women’s Health Science Journal, titled “Diverse Preconception Cohort of Digital Health Platform Shows Promise for Addressing Fertility Care Gaps.” It details the demographics of an inception cohort using our digital preconception platform, which is currently the largest commercially available pre-pregnancy intervention technology in the country. Here are some highlights: ? We’re organically reaching a racially and geographically diverse population, contributing to closing gaps in health equity insights and care delivery ? Our users come from nearly all 50 states and more than half (61%) are living in a “fertility care desert” ? 60% of users invite their male partner to join them in pre-pregnancy preparation, supporting the couple's mental health and faster consideration of often-overlooked sperm challenges These results signal the opportunity for the Doveras digital health platform to fill gaps in preconception research as well as access to preconception care. And this is just the beginning! ?? Over the next few months we’ll be publishing a series of clinical papers showing the power of our digital health platform to improve reproductive health outcomes — especially for people who may have limited access and deserve this care. ?? The World Health Organization estimates that roughly 1 in 6 people worldwide are affected by infertility.
