We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve closed our $10M Series A! This capital is not only a testament to the entire Rezilient team’s relentless commitment to our customers, partners, and the families we continue to serve, it also sets the foundation for growing our impact across more communities that are suffocating under the weight of the traditional U.S. healthcare industry. The round was led by Govo Venture Partners with participation from Bridge Ventures, Acorn Pacific Ventures, The Council, Jim McKelvey (Co-Founder of Block, formerly Square), Mark and Robyn Jones (Founders of Goosehead Insurance), Jeremy Friese, MD (Founder of Verata Health), and David Karandish (Founder of Answers.com). We’re going to use this capital to give more people access to quality, convenient healthcare —?regardless of where they are on the economic spectrum — by scaling the results we’ve already seen in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. Our goal from day one has been the same as it is today: flip the traditional healthcare model on its head and deliver care that centers a transparent relationship between patients and their care team, in the communities that are typically overlooked by the innovation economy. We’re building a truly tech-enabled system under one roof. One of my proudest moments as an investor occurred today as Alaffia Health announced its series A because it shows how the Aperture? Venture Capital vision of multi-level, multi-generational #impactinvesting is succeeding in the marketplace. Here’s the model in its most basic form : ?As diverse fund managers with meaningful capital to allocate, we are changing the VC landscape every day just by doing our day jobs. ?As Black/Brown investors with ~40 years experience collectively, Aperture GPs have access to talent /excellence that others do not, so our portfolio *organically* is more inclusive by race, gender and geography even while optimizing for financial outcomes (all about the alpha). ?Our most successful portco’s are using financial #innovation to solve market problems that impact underrepresented demographics and underserved communities. #Texas-based #HarborHealth secures $95.5M in new #funding. General Catalyst leads this additional round of funding with strong participation by Alta Partners and continued support by 8VC. Total investment to date is more than $128 million. This additional funding will allow for continued #growth in providing primary care services, broadening the scope of #specialty care offerings, and #developing plan designs that support care journeys co-created by consumers and their clinicians. Harbor Health was founded by Dr. Clay Johnston, Eric Scott (from 8VC) and Tony Miller. The idea of #building Harbor was sparked by conversations Tony and Clay had as the leaders of their previous #organizations (Bind/Surest and University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical Center, respectively). This funding round also includes returning investors Health 2047 Capital Partners, Lemhi Ventures, Martin Ventures and a series of #individuals. Harbor Health?, you’re a #person, not a patient. Big news! We’re proud to announce our seed funding round of $5.3M led by Spark Capital and joined by Acrew Capital and TTV Capital, with participation from angel investors Sam Hodges, Chad Nitschke and Mike Rosengarten. This new infusion of capital, combined with our $1.5M pre-seed backing from Y Combinator, NevCaut Ventures, TTV Capital, and Jonathan Crystal, brings Stream’s total funding to $6.8M. We’re grateful for our investors’ continued support as we work to revolutionize the workers’ compensation industry. Stream is on a mission to help process workers’ compensation claims faster and more efficiently. 10 billion pages circulate in the industry each year, and 80% of an adjuster’s work day is spent reading files and writing summaries. We’re using AI to extract pertinent information, summarize medical records, and remove blank and redundant pages – saving our clients time, money, and resources. With this new capital, we’ll be expanding our product and customer success teams to ensure we deliver even more value to our customers. Today, I’m incredibly proud to announce a major milestone for PayZen: we’ve just closed a $232 million Series B round in equity and debt, led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA). This round includes $32 million in equity and a new $200 million credit warehouse from Viola Credit and a syndicate of insurance companies. I’m thrilled to welcome Mohamad Makhzoumi, NEA’s Co-CEO, as a PayZen board member! Partnering with the right investor at each stage of our company’s growth is both an art and a science (with a bit of luck thrown in). We were fortunate to find strong alignment with the NEA team in terms of business philosophy, mission, market, and strategy. With their extensive experience and stellar track record, I look forward to collaborating with the NEA team as we guide PayZen into the future. This funding will enable us to continue leveraging our AI-powered platform to tackle healthcare affordability.
