I had the privilege of helping build and evolve Block's/Cash App's Engineering Hiring systems and frameworks from ~2015 to 2022. ?? During that time, we debated the overall hiring strategy: ?? Hire Fast, Fire Fast ?? vs ?? Avoid False Positives ?? ? It take so much time to onboard a new employee, and can take even more time to let someone go. As such, I've always been in camp Avoid False Positives, where the hiring process aims to prevent making a bad hire, at the expense of occasionally missing a good candidate. ?? One interesting observation: While you can measure the number of false positives (bad hires), it's impossible to know the number of false negatives (great candidates that weren't hired). ?? It turns out, that's ok, because the more important metrics are: How many candidates, interviews and days does it take to make a great hire. #hiring #interviewing

Job Role: Founders Office - Business Team This is a mission-critical role where you’ll work with our founders and other senior leaders from our operations and finance teams to vision and grow our platform exponentially. Key Responsibilities: ● Lead the business and the relationship development with potential partners. Align objectives, priorities and resources between them and Apollo ● Planning, executing and overseeing new partnership initiatives ● Researching organizations and individuals to find new partnership opportunities ● Developing goals for the development team and business growth and ensuring they are met. ● Handling sales aspects of the B2B clientele by on-boarding them on our platform. ● Ability to build proposals, business projections and presentations to close funding deals. ● Interacting proactively with internal and external stakeholders. Key Requirements: ● 2-4 years of work experience in the FinTech/Lending sector. ● A good university/education background is preferred. ● Previous experience in B2B business development is preferred. ● Great communication and people skills. This role involves interacting heavily with both, internal and external teams ● Previous experience in team management is a plus. ● High IQ: A clear demonstration of this in the past is a requirement. For example: Passing a difficult exam in the past/ getting into a good school in the past ● Entrepreneurial in nature. For example: Any idea big or small, does not matter, you need to execute from start to finish ● Ability to make solid decisions with incomplete data ● Ability to work hard and long hours on difficult problems. A clear demonstration of doing this in the past is a requirement ● Highly organized through meticulous note-taking and superhuman ability to multitask ● Keen interest in fin-tech. You will be required to source and connect with fintechs in India.
