Extended reality (XR) in #healthcare is still relatively new. The combination of VR (virtual) and MR (mixed) offers a great potential for immersive experiences but most early work has focused on physician tasks like education and planning (e.g., in surgery). But there are some obvious benefits for #patients as well. The #healthtech is starting to get some serious traction in the wellness and therapeutic space as outline in the article below: ???? Headspace and Nexus Studios are using XR via Meta's Quest 3 to enable interactive and immersive meditation exercises in their new product Headspace XR ???? Mynd Immersive has partnered with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to provide an immersive experience about present-day Vietnam to allow veterans heal ???? AppliedVR was the first to get an XR therapy approved (RelieVRx) to help patients deal with chronic pain and the initial clinical results are promising Maybe more to come as the technology is still somewhat experimental in health care.
