My name is Cynthia Boone. I'm the director of economic development and tourism for Charles City County. I want to be able to help people. If this is your dream, your aspiration to open a business. Then I want to be able to at least give you that starting point. So if we could just help give that business owner the jumpstart they need. Then I feel like I've served my purpose here in my role. my mother just retired back in July and she was a VRS member. So I see the benefit of her being able to now start drawing her retirement. me and, my husband, we have four children and a grandbaby. So again, just securing our futures, sort of knowing that their future is secure. It is very important, that is again why we both love VRS. We know that that future is there for us and our children. Charles City County is business friendly and business ready. You come here, you feel like you???re family here in this rural, town, But everybody really is welcoming out here. it is like a family when I meet people. It's loving. you will feel like home here. to me, it???s the best place in the world to live in, to work in, to raise a family in, a lot of people, either they hear of Charles City, don't think we have nothing to offer or people never heard of us. They know of Williamsburg and Richmond. So again, we're just trying to market ourself as a tourism destination. with Cynthia and her role, it's been really significant. She's taking us to places that we haven't been yet. The addition that Cynthia Boone coming to Charles City County is bringing customers and tourism to come out and enjoy the natural resources we have here, when you drive into the county, you feel like you're transitioned in time I think it's important for business owners and tourists to know that when you come here, you will be part of our family.
