Holding your team to high expectations begins long before you assign a task. It begins when you design the job description. Try to write a job description that capitalizes on a specific set of skills. People who can do many things well exist, but if asked they will likely tell you that while they are multi-talented, they are happiest doing a specific group of tasks. Write a job description that is clear, implementable and complements the skill sets already on the team.

????Managing Expectations????? Landing a new project, client, or job is one thing; retaining them is another. Here’s what I’ve learned from juggling 10+ clients at once over the past 6 months about managing expectations beyond just setting clear goals: **Introduce THE Process** Outline the steps required and set deadlines. Establish a feedback system and define the communication channels. A well-defined process from the beginning demonstrates better control. **Small Baby-Step Wins** In addition to big goals, define small wins that show progress. Celebrate these small achievements and give credit to those who helped. **Consistency** Expectation management also means predictability. Delivering a task in two days one time and three weeks another time confuses stakeholders. Keep communication and delivery consistent. Managing expectations effectively ensures long-term success and satisfaction for both clients and teams. This approach has proven invaluable in my experience, and I hope it helps you as well. ?? To effectively prioritize multiple urgent projects, first list all tasks and deadlines. Use the Eisenhower Matrix to categorize tasks by urgency and importance: focus on urgent and important tasks (Quadrant I), then important but less urgent tasks (Quadrant II). Delegate urgent but less important tasks (Quadrant III), and minimize or eliminate non-urgent, non-important tasks (Quadrant IV). Communicate with stakeholders to align priorities and set clear expectations. Break tasks into manageable steps and create a timeline with milestones. Regularly review and adjust priorities based on progress and any changes in project scope. Stay flexible, and maintain open communication to ensure alignment and address any emerging issues promptly.

Take one step back, calm down...Start by writing my to do list, set out the priorities and how urgent is each task is. Decide which tasks I need to delegate and to whom I should assign ; then start by an important task that does not consume too much time to get some boost. It is also important to manage expectations of others as to when and to which level of details those tasks shall be delivered.
