I’m equally happy that what has landed me here is Canopy’s work to move viscose textiles out of the world’s vital forests and on to Next Gen alternatives. Rethinking how we work is tough. It means changing habits and beliefs, which isn’t easy. But in today’s fast-changing world, it’s necessary. We’re thankful to help leading fashion brands and retailers rethink their business models. Looking back at 2024, I’m grateful. Working with great clients, partners, and team members, we’ve focused on following EU legislation and putting them into action. This is a big task, but many leaders are going further to make a bigger impact. It’s inspiring to see these leaders take responsibility, guiding their companies through a fast-changing world and staying focused. As George Bernard Shaw said, “Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” Rethinking means being open to changing what we know and believe. This can be hard because it touches who we are. Admitting that what was once right may now be wrong takes humility. But being willing to adapt leads to real progress. As we move into 2025, we’re excited to continue making real progress with our partners, driving positive change in the fashion industry. We have new projects lined up, including the 100x1000 Upcycling Club, a circular fashion platform (stay tuned), CSRD compliance toolkits, and more.?
Rewind to 2024, a year of growth and milestones at RethinkRebels! ??? We kicked off the year with inspiring conversations at the Trimco Group discussion and participated at #Modefabriek2024. As policy-makers crack down on unsustainable practices and consumers seek to get their fashion fix in ways less harmful to the planet, the industry is gearing-up for an overhaul. The linear 'take, make, waste' system is simply not cutting it anymore.
