The International Crane Stakeholders Assembly (ICSA) has announced the release of its latest document, Safe Crane Operation in the Vicinity of Power Lines, a comprehensive resource offering guidance for crane operators, contractors, and regulatory authorities to help prevent power line contact. The ICSA member organizations worked collaboratively to develop guidance with an emphasis on a proactive, risk-based approach to crane safety. SC&RA was the Secretariat for the document. Reach Remote is an uncrewed 24-meter surface vessel equipped with hull-mounted survey sensors and a Work Class Electric ROV. Unlike traditional crewed subsea vessels, REACH REMOTE represents a groundbreaking approach to conducting subsea work scopes, with positive impacts on efficiency, safety and environmental sustainability with an objective to reduce emissions by 90%. Reach Remote brings together the unique expertise of Kongsberg Maritime, Reach Subsea, and Massterly shaping the future of uncrewed offshore operations. The REACH REMOTE 1 USV will now be prepared and outfitted with subsea equipment for the pilot project with Equinor, TotalEnergies and other major energy companies and includes a variety of relevant survey, ROV intervention, IMR and monitoring related work scope which will demonstrate the full capacity of the REACH REMOTE spread. The scope of work is part of a full-scale operation and will be executed offshore in the North Sea and Norwegian Sea on production fields such as Troll, Gullfaks, Snorre and ?sgard.
