The flipped classroom model has revolutionized higher education for years by shifting the traditional lecture outside of the classroom and bringing active learning activities into the class. This works for online courses too! We have a list of terrific tools we use in classes. Faculty can enhance student engagement by allowing students to explore new content at their own pace before class, and then using class time for interactive, hands-on activities that deepen understanding.
