I started a new position at Lone Wolf on October 1st—about a month ago—and I think it’s time to reflect on what a whirlwind it’s been. Here are 5 things I’ve learned so far: ?? Reaching out for help is okay: You’re new, and it takes time to understand the company’s values and tone. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. ?? A welcoming environment is key: A welcoming atmosphere is important from both sides—whether it’s the company or yourself. Feeling comfortable in your new role is crucial for growth and productivity. ?? No question is stupid: Ask as many questions as you need to. Don’t hesitate to seek clarification or ask for help when you have doubts. ?? Be honest about your strengths and areas where you need help: For example, I’m strong in social media and PR, so I didn’t need much assistance in those areas. However, I needed more guidance on industry norms and events, and it’s important to be transparent about that. ?? Working from the office is better than working from home: In the office, you get to meet people, learn from their journeys, and most importantly gain a deeper understanding of the company. This, in turn, leads to better quality of work. Overall, the first month has been a journey of growth, learning, and adaptation. Looking forward to what’s ahead and continuing to build on what I’ve learned so far! ??

At AtkinsRéalis, I am fortunate to be part of a team that is deeply committed to sustainability and the net zero energy market. This new position aligns perfectly with my passion for sustainable practices and my belief in their critical importance for both businesses and individuals. In my role, I will be supporting various projects focused on achieving net zero energy goals, which not only helps reduce environmental impact but also promotes social justice and equitable resource use. ??? What's equally impressive is the positive company culture at AtkinsRéalis. A supportive work environment that values employee well-being, fosters innovation, and encourages continuous learning is crucial for both personal and professional growth. Six months ago when I chose to leave my job, ending a 15 year chapter in Grocery Retail Store Development, I had a lot of choice words about the experience. Now that my contract clauses have expired and I'm free to express them, the only message that's left is gratitude for the people that I was privileged to work alongside. Former partners and colleagues have continued to prove their talent, dedication, and integrity. Over the years together, we faced many professional challenges and celebrated achievements. Your fortitude and camaraderie permeate your personal character, too. You know who you are. These years were great adventures. I am proud to have contributed to 100+ project designs and developed milestone stores like the first 100% Natural Refrigerant site in Brooklyn and the first Zero Carbon Certification in Seattle. These examples of disrupting obsolete industry, creating innovative space, and providing community access are important. Many retailers break new ground and create better, scalable standards for customers. It is imperative they evolve and even more critical to patronize businesses that believe in doing things better today than they were able to do yesterday, but doing better tomorrow. Looking forward, I'm excited to work with organizations that prioritize resiliency, endurance, and quality while encouraging consumers to demand these values. The etymology of sustainability translates to "upholding", ensuring livability and maintainability over time for all stakeholders. It was never about the commodity brand of Sustainability or derivative metrics that oversimplify holistic systems. It has always been about a dynamic balance of competing priorities and elegant designs that drive human connections. I look forward to doing good work with integrity and to creating opportunities to break bread with all our friends again.

?? Celebrating a Year of New Beginnings! One year ago, I made the bold decision to leave my previous position. Despite my best efforts, I couldn’t achieve the progress I wanted. I lacked the support to lead effectively, faced dishonesty, and often felt undermined. This journey taught me five invaluable lessons: ??. ?????? ???????????????????? ???? ?? ???????????????????? ??????????????????????: A supportive company culture is crucial for success. Leading a team and achieving goals without the necessary support and resources is challenging. ??. ?????????? ???? ?????????????????? ?????? ??????????????: Experiencing dishonesty from various organizational levels taught me the importance of integrity. Trust and transparency are fundamental to a healthy work environment. ??. ?????????????????????? ???????? ???? ???????? ????: Understanding when a situation is no longer beneficial is vital. Recognizing when to move on for personal and professional growth is also important. ??. ???????????????????????? ?? ???????? ????????: Despite the toxic environment, I had a fantastic team. Their dedication and talent were highlights of my time there. I miss them and the good moments we shared. ??. ???????????????? ???????????? ?????? ????????????????????: This experience made me stronger and more resilient. It reminded me that there’s an opportunity to learn and grow even in challenging times. In one year, I have created a much healthier and more productive environment for myself. Plus, I can travel more. ?? Here’s to new beginnings and striving for a positive and impactful career! ??

After 25 years I’m moving on to new and more adventures.

Dear network, This month I leave my job as CEO of CJ Wildbird Foods / Vivara. During the last 2 years we planned and executed major transformation activities for our company together with colleagues and partners. We defined our mission and vision, optimised production footprint, implemented modern IT systems and data platform, streamlined our organisation and established new collaboration structures (and much more). I am proud we managed all of this during unfavourable economic times and challenging global market conditions. We often used three key principles to guide our actions: Focus, Collaboration and Trust. - FOCUS is important to get the job done. Every day we face distractions which can keep us away from reaching our goals. Creating and managing a top 5 list (or top 10) of for example products to launch, strategic topics to push or project risks to manage make it more likely to realise the plan. - COLLABORATION is key contributor to successful teamwork. Executing major transformation or running a complex business is impossible to do on your own. Working together with colleagues and partners in agreed structures and responsibilities make workload more realistic, sustainable and rewarding. - TRUST is crucial to work in teams. It is OK if your colleagues reach goals with slightly different actions, resources or time as you would have done. With a clear plan and guidelines (eg company values) you should trust your team members put their best foot forward (and with potentially some support) to reach the overall goal together. I wish colleagues and partners from CJ Wildbird Foods / Vivara all the best in the future - and continue the mission to preserve wildlife (birds, insects, hedgehogs, etc) in gardens and the environment.

And a new chapter begins… I am excited to share that I am starting a new role at Kaluza (part of the OVO group)! After 8 months of parental leave, I am handing over the full-time caring baton to my husband and digging out my noise-cancelling headphones! When thinking about what I wanted to do after Origami I felt motivated by the problem “How might ordinary people be empowered to drive the energy transition?” I’m certainly not the only one to feel frustrated by how the mainstream political conversation seems to be getting less ambitious with respect to climate - not more. But meanwhile, EV market penetration is snowballing, and home solar and storage is increasingly accessible - against a backdrop of higher energy costs and a cost of living crisis. So this feels like a great moment for energy suppliers to engage their customers, and help them to do their bit in moving us towards a green energy system. Kaluza’s vision is “Powering a world where net zero is within everyone’s reach”. I’ll be working on the Flex product: “intelligently managing the charging of smart home devices to create a flexible, zero carbon grid” - currently focused on EVs. I’m really excited that working at Kaluza will give me an opportunity to extend everything I’ve learned about utility-scale flexibility over the last 6 years at Origami into the commercial/end consumer space. I met some great folks during interview (shout out to Felicity Jones Maggie Chapman Johannes Holst Toby Marshman Conor Maher-McWilliams Michael Blom James Burgess) and can’t wait to meet more of my colleagues over the coming weeks! ?? Last quarter, I interned as a Graduate Marketing Team Consultant for Botrista, Inc. during my immersion quarter at Northwestern University Medill School! ?? Over the course of the 10 weeks, our team delved deep into the dynamic beverage market to craft Botrista’s path to higher volume and profitability. Our goal? To increase beverage sales by identifying the ideal customer profile and enhancing the product-market fit. ???? Here are some key highlights from our project: 1. We identified limited-service regional chains and food service providers beyond restaurants as the ideal customer segments. 2. We pivoted product strategy to focus on American cuisine with a strong secondary focus on Mexican, Italian, and Asian food. 3. We emphasized key consumer behaviors, from indulgence-driven Millennials and Gen Z to the rise of functional and customizable beverages. 4. Designed a pricing strategy for higher profitability, aligning Botrista's premium positioning with market trends. What I loved most? Working with such a passionate team and gaining invaluable insights into consumer preferences, market positioning, and the vibrant culture at Botrista. A big shoutout to my incredible team – Kavita Shivani Malik, Tavish Wang, Yueru Wang, and Yiwei (Vera) Du, a huge thank you to Neil Golden and Jim Carey for being such valuable advisors, and to Leah Letcher at Botrista for making this experience truly impactful! ??

I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Project Coordinator at My Emotions Matter! ??As I observe the world around me, I see a tapestry of friendships, colleagues, and various relationships, all contributing to the richness of our lives. Maintaining these connections while staying true to ourselves is not just important—it’s entirely possible! Yet, I see many, finding ways to sidestep their emotions instead of embracing them. For instance, the rise of "situationships"—relationships that are more than friends but less than a committed partnership—often leaves individuals in an emotional limbo. They avoid defining their feelings or discussing their needs, which can lead to confusion and heartache. ?? These challenges affect people of all ages and underscore the importance of understanding our emotions. Thus, in today’s fast-paced world, EI is a vital component of both personal success and professional growth. ?? It's with or without intention that EI has always been a cornerstone of my personal & professional life, and now I get to immerse myself in it every day. Being part of a team that values & promotes such is rewarding & enriching. ?? It’s been an incredible two weeks since I joined the team at My Emotions Matter as a Project Coordinator, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about this new chapter in my career! ??I’m truly excited about the journey ahead ??
