Im partly responsible for Merchstack sales and im sh*t at it…. Well thats how i felt when on a call on behalf of a customer last week with an integration team from another tech partner It was also a reminder of why i decided to move vendor side from merchant side So many lies. Some of what the sales person had previously told them was straight up bullsh*t and some was really bending the truth Ive encountered this a few times when coming up against other tech but i refuse to lie to get a customer but also just tell them what they want is on the roadmap when i know it isnt Being a startup if i did lie it would come back on me as id be the customer success manager for that customer anyway ?? But even if i wasnt for Merchstack and I we want to build lasting relationships rather than just lie to get another customer signed up for a 3 year contract Its also why we mainly have rolling monthly contracts too I know this isnt all sales people and theres some really goods ones out there - theyre the ones ive kept in touch with over the years But last week was a big reminder of why i moved tech side. There is a better way, even if that means we dont sell to everyone Apparently adding a photo helps with reach so heres a picture of me not winning a duathlon but not coming last ?? bit like my sales career #sales #ecommerce

? We've been releasing product updates every week, like clockwork, for the past 10 years. Sometimes small changes, sometimes big features. Last week, we launched a small update to the Ordoro + eBay integration that greatly benefits eBay sellers on our platform. Ordoro now retrieves and handles the two different ways the eBay platform refers to the same order. Here's what this means and why it matters: ?? ---- Ordoro is in the business of integrations. Anyone who builds data integrations knows there are nuances that often come back to bite you. A common pattern is that some platforms (like eBay, Etsy, ChannelAdvisor, Walmart) use two different unique identifiers for the same record. It’s insane from a data integrity point of view, but we have to deal with it. ?? In this specific case, here is what eBay does. They refer to the same order using two different order IDs: 1?? Sales Record Number: This is the seller-facing identifier. (We use this as the primary order ID in Ordoro) 2?? Extended Order ID: This is the customer-facing number. (We store this in the Internal Notes section for easy reference) ---- Ordoro now retrieves and saves both identifiers for every eBay order, making it easier for you to search and manage those orders, streamlining your order fulfillment process. ?? So, if a customer calls you or emails you, and refers to the eBay order number that they have, simply type that into the search box in Ordoro. And voila, you can retrieve that order and see the entire fulfillment history of that order on one page. #ecommerce #ebay #fulfillment
